Its official feature list spans character creation, building, jobs, relationships and two cities; its publisher also acknowledges that optimization, depth and interactions still need improvement. Whether it is worth buying now depends on how much value you place on those creative tools and documented additions versus a changing build and demanding hardware requirements.
Review scope: This is a source-based assessment, not a hands-on review. No personal playtime, performance tests or independent bug checks are available here, so it does not claim how the game feels or runs on a particular PC. The latest dated official update covered here is v0.8.0, released April 29, 2026; that date does not establish which build is live on October 4, 2026.

Is inZOI worth buying in Early Access?
It may suit players who want a visually ambitious space to create characters and homes, and who are comfortable with features and systems still being developed. It is a harder recommendation for anyone expecting a finished, deeply layered life simulation today: the publisher explicitly identifies optimization, game depth and interaction systems as areas with room to improve.
Steam labels the game Early Access and warns that it may be unstable and change significantly. KRAFTON says the purpose of launching early is to gather player feedback and guide development. That makes the current build—not promised future content—the right basis for a purchase decision. The publisher says a full release is expected to be more stable and may include new cities, expanded customization and additional gameplay; those are expectations, not guaranteed features or a dated release plan. #1 Best Overall
- Powerful Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 5600GT 3.6GHz (4.6GHz Turbo) 6-Core 12-Thread processor brings faster response time to easily handle multi-threaded tasks
- Motherboard Specification: MSI A520M-A PRO motherboard provides reliable performance and expandability for your computing needs
- Integrated Graphics: AMD Radeon Vega Graphics (CPU Integration) enables you to play 1080P mainstream games at quality frame rates
- Memory and Storage: 16GB DDR4 3200MHz RAM paired with 1TB M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD for fast multitasking and quick data access
- Power Supply: 550W 80PLUS Bronze certified power supply ensures stable and energy-efficient operation
The evidence supports a clear distinction: inZOI has a substantial starting framework, but the official feature list and update notes do not by themselves establish the moment-to-moment depth, stability or overall enjoyment that a hands-on review would need to judge.
What can you do in inZOI now?
KRAFTON describes a game built around two cities, character and build studios, jobs, relationships, customization and creative tools. Its Zois are intended to act according to personality and life experience, with emergent events such as rumors, trends and disease. The listing also promotes Unreal Engine 5 visuals, facial and motion capture, generative content creation, and Canvas, a platform for sharing creations. These are publisher-described features, not independent findings about how well each system works in play. Official Steam product description
The listing says there are more than 250 character customization options. That figure comes from KRAFTON’s product description; it does not measure the range or flexibility of every tool. The main attraction described is breadth: making Zois and spaces, then placing them in a city with work and social systems.
What the documented updates add
The dated official updates show that the feature set continued to expand through spring 2026. They are useful snapshots, not confirmation of the latest October build or proof that every new system works equally well in every save.
| Update | Documented additions and changes |
|---|---|
| v0.7.0, March 26, 2026 | Flower shops and cinemas, business interactions, a minimap, driving and bicycles, a calendar and seasonal festivals, multitasking changes, and baby-related updates. KRAFTON described this first-anniversary update as focused on refining existing systems. Official Steam news |
| v0.8.0, April 29, 2026 | Careers in Dowon, Bliss Bay and Cahaya; interviews and workplace systems; freelance job types; hair salons; autonomy controls; changes to Create a Zoi and build mode; Unreal Engine 5.6; optimization settings; and ModKit support for that engine version. The notes warn that some features may not apply to certain saves made before the update. Official Steam news |
The changelog indicates that careers, travel and autonomy received attention, but it cannot answer how varied those activities feel over a long save or how reliably they interact. The publisher also identified driving and dynamic events as improvement areas on the store page, a reminder that adding a system and making it feel complete are different milestones. Steam product page
How complete is it, and what remains uncertain?
It is explicitly unfinished. The publisher warns that the game may change substantially in Early Access and that optimization, depth and interactions need more work. Those acknowledgements matter more to a buyer than a feature count: a long menu of systems is not proof that each has the polish or complexity expected of a finished simulation.
A June 6, 2025 developer letter previewed family and relationship plans including adoption, children regardless of marital status, romance options and text messaging, along with interface and lifestyle changes. Because that letter is an older preview, it should not be treated as a definitive description of current mechanics. Current behavior needs to be checked against later patch notes and the live game. There is also no basis here for claims about actual frame rates, bug frequency, save reliability or comparative depth against another life-simulation game. Steam customer reviews can provide a changing snapshot of player sentiment, but they are platform aggregates rather than controlled testing.

Can your PC run inZOI?
Steam publishes separate minimum and recommended specifications for Windows and macOS. These are listed configurations, not performance guarantees. Check the live store requirements before buying, especially because a system that meets minimum requirements is not thereby assured of smooth performance. Steam system requirements
| Platform | Minimum listed configuration | Recommended listed configuration |
|---|---|---|
| Windows | 64-bit Windows 10/11; Intel i5-10400 or AMD Ryzen 5 3600; 12 GB RAM; NVIDIA RTX 2060 (6 GB VRAM) or AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT (6 GB VRAM); DirectX 12; broadband internet; 40 GB available storage. | Windows 11; Intel i7-12700K or AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D; 16 GB RAM; NVIDIA RTX 3070 (8 GB VRAM) or AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT (16 GB VRAM); DirectX 12; broadband internet; 60 GB storage. |
| macOS | Apple M1; macOS Sequoia 15.0; 16 GB RAM; 36 GB storage. | Apple M3; macOS Sequoia 15.0; 16 GB RAM; 45 GB storage. |
The Steam listing says Intel-processor Macs are incompatible. Its recommended RTX 3070 is one example in a published configuration, not a blanket recommendation to buy that card; compare your full system against the live requirements before spending money on an upgrade.
Price, reviews and included content
In the Steam snapshot accessed October 4, 2026, the game was listed at $39.99, and the Island Getaway DLC was listed as free. The same snapshot showed 13,528 English reviews marked Mostly Positive and 773 recent reviews across all languages marked Very Positive. Price, DLC availability, review counts and labels can change, and the Steam review figures represent platform users rather than an independent survey. Steam listing and customer reviews
Who should consider it?
- Consider it now if character creation, building and experimenting with an expanding simulation are your priorities, and you accept Early Access changes and limitations.
- Wait or check carefully if you want a polished, reliably deep life sim, need predictable performance, or would be disappointed by systems that remain in development.
- Check compatibility first if your PC is near the minimum specification or you play on a Mac; compare your exact hardware with Steam’s current requirements rather than relying on a general GPU label.
The practical decision is to buy for the creative and simulation framework available now, not for the stability, cities or gameplay the publisher says may arrive later.
