Its version numbers were PC 1.112.481.1030, Mac 1.112.481.1230, and console 2.05. Players with an existing save must add the renovated homes from My Library; they do not replace the old lots automatically.
Update versions and rollout
EA published the update notes on January 14, 2025, and listed a rollout time of 10 AM PST that day. The release identifiers were:

What changed in the main menu?
The refresh reorganized the menu to reduce clutter. New Game and Resume Game moved to the left. Home, Events, and Store sit across the top, with Options at the far right. Sims from the household you last played appear in the center, while updates and information appear on the right.

Which homes were renovated?
The update refreshed eight base-game lots across two worlds:

How to add them to an existing save
EA says both legacy and updated versions are available in My Library. New games receive the updated lots automatically. In an existing save, open My Library and place the updated lot yourself; the update does not automatically replace the home in that save.

Performance and memory changes
EA said it optimized mouse movement across PC, console, and Mac, improved graphics-data handling on Mac and PS4, and made memory-efficiency enhancements across platforms intended to help reduce crashes. The notes provide no benchmark figures or independent measurements, so these are EA’s stated improvements rather than quantified performance results.

- Pack-related issues: The notes also include fixes for Get Together, City Living, Cats & Dogs, Discover University, Eco Lifestyle, Snowy Escape, Cottage Living, High School Years, Growing Together, Horse Ranch, For Rent, Spa Day, Dine Out, My First Pet, Nifty Knitting, and Crystal Creations. Examples include a club-interface placement issue, pets interacting with fireplaces, robotic-workstation electrocution frequency, Hot Spring hygiene, prom reward unlocking, and ordering crystals by computer.

The notes announced that the Blast from the Past event would begin February 4, 2025, with rewards inspired by items from the 2000s. EA named a milk carton, telephone, alarm clock, triple-tiered birthday cake, inflatable chair, and inflatable loveseat. That date and announcement describe the event as planned in January 2025; they are not a notice of a current event.
