Amazon Luna is available in Canada—it launched there on March 22, 2023, and Amazon’s current eligibility guidance still lists Canada as a full cloud-gaming region. Luna streams games from Amazon’s servers to compatible devices, so you do not need a console or gaming PC for cloud-streamed titles. You do need a supported device, a reliable internet connection, and the right input for the game.
How Luna works in Canada
Luna runs games on remote servers and streams their video and audio to your screen. That can let you play without installing a game on a console or gaming PC, but it does not remove the need for compatible local hardware or a steady connection. Amazon says performance, including resolution and latency, can depend on your device, location, connection, available bandwidth, and subscription status. Amazon Luna Terms of Use
Amazon verifies geographic location, and digital content and offers can vary by location. Its terms also say content selection may change without notice, so Canadian availability of Luna does not guarantee that every game, tier, or promotion will be identical across accounts or remain available. Do you need Prime to play Amazon Luna in Canada?
Amazon says eligible Prime members receive Luna Standard, which includes a rotating selection of games. Its September 29, 2026 explainer described Standard as offering more than 60 games at that time, and GameNight as including more than 25 local multiplayer games. These are Amazon’s dated figures, not fixed catalog guarantees. Amazon also offers Luna Premium as a paid subscription with an expanded library. For the Prime benefit, Amazon says membership must be from the customer’s country of residence. Canada is among the 14 countries listed for full cloud gaming in its eligibility help, which was checked on October 4, 2026. Check the live Canadian catalog and your account for current games, plan details, and fees; Amazon directs customers to local Amazon pricing rather than establishing a current Canadian price in its general explainer. Amazon’s September 29 page gave examples then listed in Standard, including Assassin’s Creed Mirage, Hogwarts Legacy, Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, Dispatch, Sonic Mania Plus, and Rise of the Tomb Raider. It named Sonic Superstars, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, and Batman: Arkham Knight as Premium examples. Treat these as examples from that dated page, not a promise that they are currently included in Canada. Amazon’s September 29, 2026 Luna and GameNight explainer

What devices support Amazon Luna in Canada?
Amazon’s September 2026 overview lists these device categories for Luna, including the Rogers Xfinity Stream Box in Canada:
- Fire TV Stick and Fire TV Cube
- Fire tablets
- Windows PCs, Macs, and Chromebooks
- iPhone and iPad through a web app
- Android phones and tablets
- Select Samsung and LG smart TVs
- Rogers Xfinity Stream Box
Amazon recommends at least 10 Mbps for the best gaming experience. That is Amazon’s recommendation, not a guarantee of good results at that speed: connection stability, latency, device capability, and other factors also matter. Model and software support can change, so check Amazon’s current compatible-device help before relying on a particular device. Amazon’s September 21, 2026 Luna overview · Amazon Luna Terms of Use

Do you need a controller for Amazon Luna?
Not for every game. Amazon says GameNight uses a phone as the controller: scan the QR code shown on the TV and use the phone to play. For other Luna games, Amazon says you need a controller or a mouse and keyboard. Options it names include the Luna Controller, compatible Xbox controllers, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 controllers, and the Razer Kishi mobile controller. Amazon also describes a free Luna Phone Controller app for Fire TV. Check current device and controller compatibility for your specific setup. Amazon’s September 21, 2026 Luna overview
Can you play Luna through Prime Video in Canada?
Amazon’s September 2026 overview describes the Prime Video Games tab on Fire TV for the United States and United Kingdom, not Canada. It separately lists Rogers Xfinity Stream Box as a Luna device in Canada. The cited material therefore does not establish that Canadian Fire TV users can access Luna through that Prime Video tab. Is Luna a good fit for your setup?
Luna is worth considering if you want to stream games on a compatible device you already own and are comfortable with a catalog that can rotate. Before subscribing or planning a play session, check three things:
- Your device: confirm the exact model and software are currently supported.
- Your connection: Amazon recommends at least 10 Mbps, but stability and latency also affect play; consider any data cap on your internet plan.
- Your preferred games and input: confirm a title is currently available in Canada and whether it needs a controller or works with mouse and keyboard or GameNight’s phone control.
Amazon announced Luna’s Canadian launch on March 22, 2023, saying the service would bring cloud gaming to devices customers already own. That is Amazon’s description of its aim, not an independent assessment of game quality, latency, or ease of use. Amazon Canada launch announcement, March 22, 2023
