What AION 2 training dummies can do
July 22, 2026 Korean update notes say that some training dummies in towns and Legion bases were replaced with dummies that use attack skills, and that they use those skills when a player is nearby. This confirms practice targets and some reactive dummies; it does not establish that every location or region has the same setup. July 22, 2026 KR update notes.
A stationary target is useful for rehearsing a rotation or comparing the same inputs under similar conditions. The available official notes do not describe a built-in damage summary, automatic dummy reset, or settings for dummy health and resistance. The notes also do not establish an official DPS report. Do not treat a third-party meter as proof that these features exist in the game.
Can you practise skills and macros on a dummy?
Yes. An independent AION 2 Database guide recommends using a dummy to test macro timing. Its suggested starting delays are about 40–50 ms when ping is above 80–100 ms, and 10 ms when ping is below 50 ms. These are guide recommendations, not NCSOFT instructions or independently controlled results; adjust for your own connection and watch for skipped skills. AION 2 Database macro guide.

The same guide says a macro uses only one charge stage for charged skills. If the full charge matters, use that skill manually rather than assuming the macro reproduces it. The guide also cautions against leaving macros unattended.
Can a dummy help you compare builds?
It can help compare performance in a repeatable practice setup, but a dummy test alone cannot establish that one build is universally better. Change one variable at a time and keep the character, target type, equipment, self-buffs, and test sequence consistent. Record any differences rather than assuming the game offers controls for them.

The reviewed official information does not confirm an in-game damage report for training dummies. JaMeter advertises per-skill damage breakdowns and a 20–60 second dummy comparison, but describes itself as an unofficial fan-made tool. How to make a useful dummy comparison
- Choose a consistent setup. Use the same character, target type, skill configuration, equipment, and self-buffs for each run; note anything you cannot keep identical.
- Repeat a fixed sequence for a consistent interval. Compare like with like. If you use an external meter, name it and treat its output as unofficial. JaMeter describes 20–60 second comparisons, but that method has not been independently validated.
- Change one factor at a time. Test a skill choice, macro order, or build configuration separately. Use the Skills Builder to save or share configurations, not as a substitute for an in-game test.
- Handle charge skills and macro timing deliberately. Test full-charge skills manually where a macro would use one charge stage, and tune delay to your own connection rather than treating a guide’s numbers as universal.
- Label the context. Record whether the test is PvE or PvP practice and which patch it reflects. NCSOFT announced on March 25, 2026, that PvP and PvE damage calculations were separated. Dummy results should not be generalized across those contexts, and a stationary target cannot reproduce movement, encounter mechanics, or damage windows. NCSOFT’s March 25, 2026 announcement.
