Upgrade the gear and Hunters used by your active team first, and check the live costs before committing scarce materials. Solo Leveling: Arise has several distinct systems: Craft makes selected weapons and Hunter Enhancement Materials, artifacts improve equipped stats, and the Armory adds a separate Jinwoo power bonus. There is no single upgrade order or farming route established for every account, so use the steps below to spend with your roster and progression in mind.
What should you upgrade first?
Start with the characters and equipment you are actually using. Before investing heavily in an artifact, look for a useful set effect and suitable base stats; before crafting, inspect the recipe, available craft count, and Gold cost. This is a cautious way to reduce waste, not a universal build rule: the best use of materials depends on your Hunters, weapons, and current progression.
- Improve the active team rather than spreading scarce materials across every owned character.
- Check current in-game costs and eligibility before confirming a craft or enhancement.
- Lock artifacts you want to keep so they are not accidentally consumed as materials.
Craft weapons and Hunter Enhancement Materials
Craft unlocks when Sung Jinwoo reaches level 7. Open it through Menu → Workshop → Craft, or through Lobby → Management (NPC May) → Craft. Choose an item to view its information and available craft count, then confirm when you are ready. The official Netmarble Craft guide says crafting cannot fail, but materials and Gold are spent when the item is made. Some Hunter weapons and items cannot be crafted, so check the live recipe list rather than assuming a specific item is available.
Crafting provides a direct route to selected weapons for Jinwoo and Hunter Enhancement Materials. It does not establish a universally best recipe or material-farming schedule: compare the displayed requirements with what your account needs now, and avoid spending just because a recipe is available.

Separate weapon growth from Jinwoo’s Armory
The Armory is an additional Jinwoo-specific power system, not a substitute for improving an individual weapon. It unlocks at Jinwoo level 30. You can register owned Sung Jinwoo Exclusive Weapons to unlocked slots; a portion of each registered weapon’s Total Power then contributes to Armory bonus power. Slot enhancement uses Marks of Time, and Armory Total Power contributes in combat and squad formation. See the Netmarble Armory guide and follow the requirements shown on your own slots. The guide does not establish one slot-enhancement priority that applies to every account.
Use artifacts for equipped stats and set effects
Artifacts can be equipped by Sung Jinwoo and other Hunters. Their access unlocks progressively: artifacts after Chapter 5, Episode 1; necklaces and bracelets after Chapter 9; and rings and earrings after Chapter 12. Matching pieces from a set provide additional effects. The Netmarble Artifacts guide explains the systems below; because its guide content may change, rely on the current game interface for live eligibility and costs.

Enhancement raises stats, with lower success rates at higher tiers
Artifact enhancement increases stats. At +5, +10, +15, and +20, an additional supporting stat is added; on other successful enhancement steps, a random existing supporting stat increases. Each failed enhancement adds 1 percentage point to the bonus rate, which resets after a success.
Netmarble’s Artifact Rates page lists these success chances by enhancement tier. The source does not display a publication or revision year:

Enchantment targets a substat
Enchantment lets you choose a substat to improve, but the resulting bonus is random within the listed range and consumes materials and Gold. If the new result is not higher than the existing substat, it is not saved. Continuous Enchantment can repeat until that substat reaches its maximum. Check the displayed cost and result before starting or continuing.
Reforging is limited to eligible artifacts
Reforging can increase artifact stats, and its interface previews the new values, equipment score, and material costs before confirmation. It preserves the enhancement tier and enchantment stats, does not change the artifact’s effect type, and can be used once on eligible Heroic–Legendary artifacts above the required level. Event artifacts are excluded. Use the preview to decide whether the change is worth its displayed cost.

Where to get materials—and what the guides do not establish
The official Craft guide confirms that Craft can make selected Hunter Enhancement Materials and weapons for Jinwoo, but it does not provide a universally optimal recipe priority or current farming route for every account. The artifact and Armory guides likewise explain system mechanics without establishing a total upgrade budget or one best order for all rosters. Material requirements, rewards, and eligibility can change, and the guides themselves caution that their content may reflect a test version or company-wide test. Check live recipes, rates, and reward screens in your game rather than relying on fixed cost assumptions.
Netmarble’s November 28, 2024 update announcement confirms the historical introduction of an artifact Enchantment growth system; it is not a source for current costs.
