The Once Human Development Team’s July 31, 2024 announcement outlined an August 1 maintenance update with new Memetic Specialization Memory Fragments, activity and vehicle changes, seasonal events, and a long list of fixes. The notes scheduled maintenance for 4:00 AM UTC, with an expected duration of four hours. These are historical patch details, not current server-status or availability information.
Maintenance schedule and announcement
The official post, titled “Patch Notes (August 1, 2024),” was published July 31. It says: “Once Human will undergo server maintenance on August 1 at 4:00 AM (UTC).” The team estimated that maintenance would take four hours and said the changes responded to player feedback since global release. The schedule is the one announced at the time, not a statement about current servers. Read the official patch notes.
Progression: Memetic Specialization Memory Fragments
The update introduced Memetic Specialization Memory Fragments. Using a fragment grants the effect of its corresponding specialization, and a player may use up to three fragments per season. Controllers have a chance to yield a random fragment, and fragments can be traded. All fragments are destroyed at season end; they are not transferred to the Eternaland Depot. The official announcement describes these seasonal limits and item rules.
Activities, map navigation, and multiplayer
Highway Pursuit and Rosetta trucks
Highway Pursuit gained a Chalk Peak route and a fixed start time of 9:00 PM server time. Rosetta trucks began dropping Sproutlets even when players did not attack them, and the notes also announce increased Sproutlet and reward drops.

Activity details and invitations
Players can open detail screens for activities from the map, including Monoliths, Securement Silos, Public Crisis Events, and Cargo Conquest. The update also lets players invite others to Public Crisis Events through chat. Solo entry to Monoliths and Securement Silos no longer uses a Ready countdown.
Vehicles, planting, and controls
Vehicle handling and maintenance
Low-level Motorcycles received higher acceleration and maximum speed; Off-Roaders and Coupes received smaller increases. The update added an action to escape when a vehicle is stuck and an option for the vehicle camera to auto-center. Heavily damaged vehicles must be repaired before they can be modified.
Continuous planting
Planter Boxes gained continuous planting: after the first planting, they can reuse the previously selected seeds and fertilizer.

- FEELIN’ CUTE is the fur-mily party game of determining which animals are the cutest! Think you can figure out which of your friends believes a Tree Frog is more precious than a Fennec Fox? You’re about to!
- DESIGNED FOR 2-8 PLAYERS, ages 6 and up, the card game takes 15 minutes to play, and will leave players feelin' cuter than ever!
- BOTH COMPETITIVE & COOPERATIVE gameplay options mean this family game that adults also enjoy is perfect for animals (or humans) of all kinds!
- CHOOSE your favorite animal paw and place the Cuteness Scale in the center of the table. Draw animal cards and show them around. Decide how its cuteness compares to the last and the other players make their guesses. If no one guesses right, turn over a Blobfish token, and once all three are turned, tally your scores!
- SPARKS HILARIOUS DISCUSSION about the cuteness of animals–and always ends with an emphatic "I want to play again!"
Combat, weapons, and interface changes
The notes cover a fix for Doombringer attack-buff stacking and a PvP damage issue involving gear builds. They also describe changes to Bounce target selection and the displayed accuracy values; the team says the underlying accuracy attributes did not change.
