EA’s official weapon guide names weapons across eight categories, from assault rifles to sidearms, and lists how to unlock each one. This is the confirmed roster in EA’s guide, which is marked updated for Season 4. EA’s Season 5 preview says more weapons are coming but does not name them, so they are not included here until EA identifies them in its update notes. EA’s Season 5 preview points to those notes for the detailed weapon breakdown.

How weapon categories differ
EA’s guide describes categories by role and range, not as a universal ranking. Assault rifles are adaptable full-auto weapons and the Assault class’s signature category; the M433 is oriented toward closer fights, while the SOR-556 MK2, AK4D, and L85A3 are described as stronger at mid-to-long range. The TR-7 and VCR-2 favor close range.
- Carbines: smaller than assault rifles and intended for closer engagements; EA says they are available to all classes in Closed Weapon experiences.
- SMGs/PDWs: close-quarters weapons with the highest average primary-weapon fire rate; SMGs are Engineer’s signature weapon.
- LMGs: built around sustained suppressive fire and are Support’s signature category.
- DMRs: semi-automatic precision rifles for longer-range marksman use; available to all classes in Closed Weapon experiences.
- Sniper rifles: long-range weapons and Recon’s signature category.
- Shotguns: available to all classes in Closed Weapon experiences.
Class and mode rules affect weapon choice
EA identifies Assault, Engineer, Support, and Recon as the four classes. Assault is associated with assault rifles, Engineer with SMGs, Support with LMGs, and Recon with sniper rifles. Each class has a signature-weapon benefit; EA says the details can be read in game. These roles are not weapon rankings: Engineers focus on countering vehicles and can repair friendly vehicles, equipment, and weapon placements; Recon combines sniping and scouting; Support supplies and heals teammates.

EA’s Season 5 community update confirms that new weapons are coming, but its preview does not name them and directs readers to the Season 5 update notes for the weapon-by-weapon breakdown. Until EA names those additions or updates its guide, this list should be read as the named roster in the guide marked updated for Season 4—not as a claim that no later weapons exist. The preview also says weapon balance changes are planned, so current performance descriptions may change.
