American Truck Simulator has expanded beyond truck driving with Road Trip, a feature built around driving cars and taking on smaller delivery jobs. Its first announced vehicle pack, Road Trip: Ford, brings four Ford models into the game. The available Steam review information does not confirm the DLC’s current rating, so “Very Positive” should not be treated as verified.
What Road Trip adds to American Truck Simulator
SCS Software describes Road Trip as a new way to experience American Truck Simulator, with vehicles beyond trucks and smaller delivery jobs. In its announcement, the developer said, “Road Trip will bring a whole new experience for players of American Truck Simulator.” The feature is therefore more than a set of cars to admire: it introduces car driving and a different scale of delivery work.
Cars, deliveries, and customization
The developer’s announcement also describes car customization. It does not specify every customization option or detail how the smaller jobs compare with the game’s standard truck-hauling work, so those should not be assumed from the announcement alone.
The Atlas feature
SCS also names an Atlas feature. According to the announcement, Atlas can be used while driving an 18-wheeler as well, provided the player owns a Road Trip DLC. That makes it a feature relevant to truck drivers, not only to players using a car.

Which Ford cars are included?
SCS’s Road Trip: Ford announcement names four vehicles:
- 1967 Ford Mustang Fastback
- 2023 Ford F-150
- 2023 Ford Bronco
- 1998–2012 Ford Crown Victoria
SCS credits Ford as a collaborator on bringing the vehicles into the game. That supports describing them as official Ford content within the game; it does not establish any broader endorsement beyond the collaboration described by the developer.

Did the Ford DLC receive Very Positive Steam reviews?
That claim is not verified by the Steam information available here. The Steam result reports the base game’s rating, not a rating for Road Trip: Ford. It displayed 97% positive from 94,795 English reviews for American Truck Simulator when accessed on October 4, 2026; that figure is for the base game and can change over time. It cannot be used as the DLC’s score or review count.
To establish the DLC’s current Steam label, percentage, and review count, check the American Truck Simulator Steam listing and the Steam search results for Road Trip: Ford for the DLC’s own page. Without a confirmed DLC-specific result, the accurate answer is that the “Very Positive” claim remains unconfirmed.

What the launch-player figure does—and doesn’t—show
GamesRadar reported an all-time concurrent-player peak of 21,318 around the feature’s launch, citing SteamDB. SCS said its previous concurrent record had been broken and described players as either driving trucks or using the Road Trip: Ford DLC. The reported peak reflects activity across the game, however; it does not show that the DLC alone caused the increase or that every player at the time was using the new feature.

The clearest distinction is the kind of driving and work on offer: Road Trip adds cars and smaller deliveries to a game centered on trucking. Customization and the Atlas feature add further ways to interact with the new content, while Atlas is also described as usable in an 18-wheeler by owners of a Road Trip DLC. SCS marked the game’s tenth anniversary in February 2026, looking back on a decade since its 2016 release; that anniversary provides context for the expansion, rather than proof that car driving had previously been part of the game.
