What the 25–30% PS Plus discount covered
PlayStation’s 2024 Black Friday announcement described different offers for new members and existing subscribers. The percentage depended on the transaction and tier; it was not a single discount available to everyone.

These historical figures do not establish a discount on an ordinary renewal. A new 12-month purchase, an upgrade charged for the remaining subscription period, and a renewal are distinct transactions.
What PlayStation offered in 2025
PlayStation’s 2025 Black Friday announcement said eligible players in participating countries could save up to 33% on a 12-month membership. Existing members could receive 33% off the remainder of their membership when upgrading from Essential or Extra to Premium or Deluxe.

The terms were not identical everywhere. PlayStation’s Southeast Asia announcement described up to 33% for eligible joiners and upgrades, but 30% in Thailand. PlayStation also cautioned that offers varied by region and retailer, so a headline percentage should not be assumed to apply in every country or storefront.
Is a 2026 PS Plus Black Friday deal confirmed?
No 2026 Black Friday PS Plus terms are established by the official announcements cited here. The 2024 and 2025 offers show what PlayStation promoted in those years; they do not confirm the date, eligibility, or discount for a future sale. Check the official local PlayStation Black Friday offer when it is announced, and rely on the terms shown for your country and account.

A separate promotion is not evidence of Black Friday pricing. For example, PlayStation’s May 2026 Japan Days of Play announcement listed 20% off Essential, 25% off Extra, and 33% off Premium for new 12-month memberships. Those terms applied to a different event and market.

What to check before accepting an offer
- Country and storefront: Confirm that the offer is available in your region and through the retailer where you are buying.
- Eligibility: Check whether the promotion is for a new membership, a specified tier upgrade, or another transaction. Do not assume it discounts your renewal.
- Price and subscription period: Compare the checkout total and the period covered. A percentage off the remaining term is not the same basis as a discount on a new 12-month membership.
- Renewal terms: The 2025 PlayStation announcement says PS Plus renews automatically at the then-current PlayStation Store price until canceled. Review the checkout terms and renewal setting before purchase.
