How Connections works
Connections gives players 16 words to divide into four groups of four based on shared themes. The New York Times labels the groups Yellow, Green, Blue, and Purple, from easiest to trickiest. It says each puzzle has one solution, while deliberately including words that can seem to fit more than one category. The NYT Help Center explains the game.
