Where do you find Artifacts in CONTROL Resonant?
Artifacts are equippable items with passive modifiers that can shape a build. Remedy Lead Gameplay Designer Sergey Mohov describes them as items that let players “fine-tune your build.” You find Untapped Artifacts in the world, then craft them into usable Artifacts at the Gap. The official explanation covers the system, but does not provide a complete region-by-region pickup map. PlayStation Blog, April 30, 2026.
Remedy describes the game’s zones as large, distinct areas with side activities, hidden encounters, and optional discoveries, making a region-first search useful. Remedy Entertainment, February 13, 2026. In the checklist below, “confirmed route” means a guide names a quest or boss reward; it does not mean the guide gives a verified pickup coordinate. Unverified entries are labeled rather than filled in with guesses.

These are reported acquisition routes from launch-era guides, not a complete or independently verified map inventory. Quest names and reward descriptions are included where stated by the guides.

For the remaining Artifacts, the cited guides do not provide a consistent, fully verified region-and-coordinate inventory. One guide describes 11 verified recipes plus the newly surfaced Feeding Bottle; another lists more than 30 Artifacts. Those counts reflect different coverage, not an authoritative total. Consult current region-filtered maps or verify a pickup in-game before treating an unlisted location as confirmed. GamesRadar+, Gamepressure, and TheGamer.
How to turn an Untapped Artifact into an equippable one
Finding an Untapped Artifact is not the same as having its usable version. The world-to-Gap crafting loop is described by Remedy and by the location guide; crafting consumes the matching Untapped Artifact.
- Collect the Untapped Artifact and the required crafting materials and Echoes.
- Make sure you also have sufficient Source for the desired craft.
- At the Gap, use the Artifact Formation station and select the Artifact you want to create.
Remedy says crafted Artifacts carry into New Game Plus, while traversal abilities do not. A route you could reach late in one run may therefore not be accessible at the same stage of a repeat run. PlayStation Blog.
How to choose which Artifacts to equip
Compare an Artifact’s benefit with its cost and activation conditions; the largest listed bonus is not automatically the best fit. For example, Brass Dusters trade zero Filter for +50% Raw Damage, while Golden Earrings exchange -30% Raw Damage for +20% Filter. Heart Monitor’s survival effect is powerful but single-use. GamesRadar+ and Gamepressure.

- Acquisition: Factor in whether the item comes from a main quest, optional quest, boss, vendor, or edition bonus—and whether that route is actually clear.
