Granary and storehouse families staff stalls, and the amount the market can supply depends on available goods, staffed stalls, and their capacity. If supply falls short, plots nearer the market may receive goods first.
What a marketplace does
Food, firewood, clothing, and other essentials need to reach market stalls to be distributed to populated burgage plots. Having goods somewhere in the region is not the same as having them available to homes: the goods must make their way through storage and into stalls. A marketplace is therefore a distribution point, not a source of goods. The official Manor Lords FAQ identifies both a marketplace and goods reaching its stalls as factors in supply.
You can place a marketplace at no cost. During placement, the game shows its stall spaces, according to the official Manor Lords wiki. The market’s area matters because plots draw on its distribution, but a large area alone does not guarantee that every home has every good.
How stalls, storage, and supply fit together
Storage-building families run stalls
Families assigned to granaries can run food stalls; families assigned to storehouses can run general-goods stalls. The game’s Update 4 notes for version 0.8.024 explain that assigning storage-building families can set up stalls immediately. They also document controls for allowing or disabling market stalls; when stalls are disabled, workers abandon them.
Supply depends on both goods and capacity
Goods must be available and delivered to stalls, and the stalls must have enough distribution capacity. Update 4 states that the goods a marketplace can supply are capped by the number of stalls—and therefore by the number of assigned storage-building families. Adding more workers or stalls cannot supply a good that is not reaching the market; having plenty of goods in storage does not by itself ensure sufficient market capacity.
The same update added supply-capacity information to the marketplace panel, along with market filters, connection arcs between storage buildings and marketplaces, and regional supply data. Use the information shown in your installed version rather than relying on old capacity rules of thumb: the wiki lists 50 storage per stall, but Update 4 says maximum stall storage was reduced.

Distance matters most when supply is short
The official wiki says that when there are not enough resources to supply all plots, homes closer to the market location are served first. This does not mean distance always limits coverage: when supply is adequate, proximity is not established as a universal barrier. If only some plots receive a good during a shortage, check their distance from the market as well as the market’s supply and staffing.
Why a burgage plot may show a missing good
Work through the problem in this order, using the marketplace panel and plot overlays in your current build:

- In The Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle-earth, fight on the side of Aragorn, Gandolf, Gimli, Legolas and other companions against the armies of Mordor. To defeat your enemies, you must form fellowships of companions and send them to battle.
- While building your fellowships, the Eye of Sauron is always vigilant, so you must beware of a counterattack.
- The player that defeats the most powerful hordes from Mordor wins the game!
- Contents include: 43 ring cards, 21 enemy cards, 4 guide cards, gameboard and instructions

- Check the market’s supply panel. Inspect the relevant category, its supply capacity, assigned families, and available stall locations. Update 4 says that the plot overlays update in real time.
- Follow the good through the supply chain. Confirm that it is being produced or acquired, reaches storage, and is delivered to a stall. A regional stockpile does not prove that the market has the good available.
- Check staffing and stall settings. Make sure granaries or storehouses have assigned families and that the appropriate kind of market stall is permitted. Disabled stalls are abandoned by their workers.
- Address the actual bottleneck. If goods are missing, improve their production, acquisition, or delivery. If stalls or assigned storage-building families limit capacity, address that distribution constraint instead.
- Recheck the plots and consider proximity. Review the overlay or panel after changes. If supply remains short, nearer plots may be served first; simply enlarging a market or placing another one is not guaranteed to resolve a shortage caused by missing goods or insufficient staffed capacity.
What market supply means for approval and plot upgrades
Market supply contributes to meeting burgage-plot needs and can affect approval. The FAQ notes that a variety of food can improve approval and help set the stage for Level 2 plots, but market supply is only one part of progression. Adequate supply and the other applicable upgrade requirements still matter.

Manor Lords remains an Early Access game, and the official wiki warns that its information can be incomplete or change. Update 4 (0.8.024) records substantial marketplace changes, including the supply cap tied to stalls and assigned storage families and a reduction in maximum stall storage. The cited sources do not establish whether later builds changed every detail, so check the marketplace panel in your installed build for current capacity and availability.
