Return to Rockrest Flat to fight him; defeating him opens the Chapter 2 secret area, Kingdom of Sahali.
1. Find the drunken boar at Rockrest Flat
In Fright Cliff, start at the Rockrest Flat Keeper’s Shrine and head toward the open area. Speak to the drunken boar there to begin his quest. PC Gamer’s walkthrough and GameSpot’s guide describe this as the first stop.
2. Get a Sobering Stone and give it to him
You can obtain the requested Sobering Stone in either of these documented ways:
- Find one in Windrest Hamlet: From Windrest Bridge, enter the village and follow the stairs to a breakable pot. Windrest Hamlet is beyond Crouching Tiger Temple. GameSpot’s guide gives this route.
- Buy one from the Man-in-Stone: Complete his quest to make him a vendor, then purchase a Sobering Stone from him, as described by GameSpot.
Return to Rockrest Flat and speak to the boar. Hand over the stone and finish his dialogue; he leaves to look for food. The sources do not establish a price comparison or say that either route is missable.

3. Give him a Jade Lotus at Crouching Tiger Temple
Go to the Temple Entrance Keeper’s Shrine at Crouching Tiger Temple. Head upstairs and take the second path on the right to find the boar. Speak with him and give him a Jade Lotus. GameSpot notes Jade Lotuses in the Forest of Wolves and Bamboo Grove, as well as one in the Earth Wolf arena pool in Sandgate Village. It is a world item, not described as a unique quest reward.
4. Return to Rockrest Flat and fight the Yellow-Robed Squire
After giving him the Jade Lotus, return to the place where you first met him at Rockrest Flat. Speak through any remaining dialogue; the boar confronts you as the Yellow-Robed Squire. Defeating him opens the gate to the Kingdom of Sahali secret area. PC Gamer and GameSpot cover the confrontation and route forward.

5. Complete the Kingdom of Sahali for the Wind Tamer
Follow the Squire through the gate and continue through the secret area. Its encounters include a secret Tiger Vanguard and Fuban. The Wind Tamer vessel is awarded for completing the Kingdom of Sahali, not for handing over the Sobering Stone and Jade Lotus alone. See PC Gamer’s walkthrough and GameSpot’s guide.

The final encounter is associated with the Arhat Gold Piece. PC Gamer’s August 2024 walkthrough links the item to defeating the First Prince of Flowing Sands; if the Squire does not appear after both item handoffs, defeat the First Prince and return to Rockrest Flat. This is a reported prerequisite, not proof that the quest is missable or that every platform or chapter-transition case behaves the same way.
