Lower graphics load methodically
Change one relevant graphics setting at a time, then replay the same scene or sequence and compare. This helps identify whether a particular setting is contributing without assuming there is a universal setting order for all survival horror games. Update drivers and Windows

What if the game is using the wrong GPU or competing with background apps?

Verify the game files
If files may be missing or damaged, use the verify or repair option in the launcher where you own the game. The exact label and location vary by launcher. This is an integrity check, not a general performance boost.
How should I troubleshoot shader stutter?
Shader compilation and a damaged shader cache are different situations. A game may stutter while building shaders, particularly after first launch; deleting files during that process is not a universal remedy. Follow the instructions for the specific game.

When the game is compiling shaders
For the game covered by its support article, Square Enix recommends using the compile-shader setting and returning to the title screen. It estimates compilation can take 35 to 90 minutes depending on PC specifications. When a cache may be damaged
Capcom says damaged shader-cache files may cause certain graphical issues and provides specific filenames to delete in its Steam troubleshooting instructions. What should I do if performance gets worse as the PC heats up?
Check that the computer has adequate ventilation and that vents are not obstructed. Capcom says gameplay may be less smooth if a PC generates too much heat, and suggests a well-ventilated location, lower graphics settings, or limiting the frame rate as ways to reduce heat load (Capcom Support).
If you have evidence of dust or restricted airflow, consult the computer maker’s safety instructions before cleaning. Heat is a possible contributor, not a diagnosis based solely on a stutter; the cited guidance does not establish a universal temperature threshold or cleaning procedure.
What if the game still crashes, shows visual faults, or runs poorly?
Some fixes apply only to a named game and error.
