Save your receipt and evidence of when access stopped, then submit a request through that seller’s official refund or support channel. Removal does not automatically guarantee a refund: the result depends on your country, the seller’s policy, the type of purchase, and whether the item is unavailable to you or merely no longer sold to new buyers.
First, confirm what happened to your purchase
A title disappearing from a storefront is not necessarily the same as losing access to a title you already bought. Check whether you can still find and launch it from your library, account, or download history. Record any error message, removal notice, or support explanation.
- Delisted for new buyers: The item may no longer be available to purchase while existing buyers retain access.
- Unavailable to your account: You may have lost access, or the service may be failing temporarily. Note when the problem began and whether it persists.
- Changed or no longer as described: A replacement, alteration, or missing feature may raise a different issue from a simple storefront delisting.
This distinction matters when describing the problem and assessing a possible remedy.
Who should you contact?
Usually, contact the platform or seller that processed the payment, rather than the game’s developer or publisher. Check the receipt and transaction history to identify the account, storefront, and payee. If you bought a voucher or code from a retailer, the retailer may be the right counterparty; PlayStation, for example, directs voucher-code buyers to the retailer that sold the code.

What to gather before requesting a refund
Keep the records that let the seller identify the transaction and understand the loss of access. There is no single evidence checklist that applies to every platform, but these details are useful:
Rank #2
- 24.1 megapixel (aps-c) cmos sensor with iso 100-25600 (h: 51200).
- digic 8 image processor with auto lighting optimizer.
- improved dual pixel cmos af and eye detection af (still/movie servo af support).
- 4k uhd 24p and hd 120p for slow motion.
- vari-angle touchscreen lcd convenient for vlogging and various composition.
- Order confirmation, transaction ID, or order number
- Purchase date, product title, account, and storefront or region
- Payment record, if available
- Screenshot or copy of the removal notice, error, or message explaining why access ended
- Dates of any troubleshooting or earlier contact with support
How to submit the request
- Open the official channel for the seller that took payment. Use the account and storefront where you made the purchase, and follow the current regional process.
- Identify the transaction. Include the product name, order number, purchase date, and the account or storefront, without sending unrelated personal or payment information.
- Describe the access problem precisely. Say when the content became unavailable and whether it is missing from your existing library, cannot be launched, or has only been removed from sale.
- State the remedy you want. Request a refund, or ask whether the seller can restore access, repair or replace the content, or offer another remedy. The available outcome depends on policy and applicable law.
- Attach relevant evidence and keep a copy. Save your submission and any reply so you can refer to them if you need to follow up.
Official platform routes
Apple Support (UK)
Apple’s UK support page directs customers to reportaproblem.apple.com: sign in, choose “Request a refund,” select a reason and item, then submit. Apple says eligibility can vary by country or region, and notes that some purchases may have been billed by a different seller. See Apple’s refund-request instructions.
Google Play (EEA and UK policy)
Google’s policy for the European Economic Area and UK says most Play purchases are not refunded. It also says consumers who purchase or subscribe to digital content agree to immediate availability and waive the automatic statutory withdrawal right, but identifies defective, unavailable, or not-as-stated digital content as an exception to its general restriction. The page is region- and product-specific; use Google Play’s current refund policy for the account and purchase in question.

PlayStation Store (Ireland example)
PlayStation’s Ireland support page describes this route: open Order details, select an eligible transaction, choose “Cancel Purchase,” and follow the on-screen instructions; contact PlayStation Support if needed. For games and DLC, its standard conditions include requesting within 14 days of purchase and not having downloaded or streamed the content, unless it is faulty. This is an Ireland storefront policy example, not a universal deadline or rule. The page also notes that additional rights under local law may apply. See PlayStation’s refund instructions for Ireland.

Platform refund policies and statutory consumer rights are separate. Losing access can be relevant to a legal claim, but it does not create one automatic worldwide right to a full refund. The seller, country, contract, content type, and circumstances of the removal all matter.

United Kingdom
The UK Consumer Rights Act 2015 covers qualifying contracts for paid digital content. Depending on the breach and statutory conditions, remedies can include repair or replacement, a price reduction, or recovery of money for a qualifying breach of the statutory supply term. It would be too broad to conclude that every removal immediately entitles a buyer to a full refund. Where the statutory refund right applies, the Act says payment must be made without undue delay and within 14 days after the trader agrees the consumer is entitled to it; it also addresses the means of payment. Read Part 1 of the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
European Union
The European Commission says Directive (EU) 2019/770 and related digital-content rules applied from 1 January 2022 following transposition by member states. For faulty digital content or services, its explainer describes asking the trader to fix the problem and, if it persists, seeking a price reduction or ending the contract for a refund. The relevant national law implementing the rules and the facts of the contract determine how a particular claim applies. See the Commission’s digital contract rules explainer.

If your request is denied
- Ask for the reason in writing. Request the policy or rule the seller relied on and keep its response.
- Clarify the facts. Explain whether you lost access to an existing purchase, rather than simply seeing it removed from sale, and why you believe it is unavailable or no longer conforms to what you bought.
- Check the rights that apply where you live. If you know the relevant consumer law, explain why you believe it applies. UK and EU examples do not establish the rules for other countries.
- Look for a suitable local escalation route. Consumer-protection and dispute-resolution options vary by country, payment method, seller, and storefront; the platform’s response may identify the next step.
