How to play A Dralien Day
Move the mouse over the scene and click objects that respond or become highlighted. Most puzzles are solved by clicking mechanisms in a particular order, watching what changes, and then applying the clue somewhere else. There is no inventory system to manage: the challenge is recognizing the active hotspot and remembering visual information.

Kongregate lists October 25, 2009 as its release date, while Newgrounds lists a V2 upload on October 23, 2009; those are different platform events, not conflicting versions of the same date. Both listings describe a point-and-click game and note that action stages can be skipped after failure, with a score penalty.

Complete walkthrough
1. Escape the nest
- At the opening nest, click the egg repeatedly.
- Keep clicking until the egg falls from the ledge.
- Once it drops, the scene advances and Dralien can continue.
If nothing appears to happen, click the egg again rather than searching the rest of the screen. This opening interaction requires repeated clicks on the same object. It is not a timing challenge: keep the pointer on the egg and continue until the fall animation begins.
2. Operate the cannon
- Click the mechanism in the upper-left corner four times.
- Click the mechanism in the bottom-right corner once.
- Turn the lower wheel twice.
- Load the cannonballs.
- Pull the lever in the upper-right.
Completing that sequence scares away the creature in the hole. The important detail is the number of clicks on each mechanism: four on the upper-left control and one on the lower-right control before turning the wheel. Do not pull the upper-right lever first; it is the final trigger after the cannon has been prepared. If the creature remains, repeat the sequence while checking that the lower wheel was turned twice and that the ammunition was loaded.
3. Repair the blowfly setup
- Search the scene and click four visible cogs.
- Use the small lever beneath the flower.
- Click the broken bridge below the flower.
- Click the flower.
- When the blowfly lands to feed, click Dralien so he jumps onto its back.
- The fly releases a fifth cog. Click that cog while it travels left.
- Hold the large wheel to raise Dralien.
The fifth cog is easy to miss because it is released only after Dralien is riding the fly. Do not stop after collecting the first four; watch the fly’s movement and click the additional cog as it moves left. The small lever, broken bridge and flower are separate interactions, so perform all three before trying to mount the fly. Once Dralien is airborne, hold the large wheel long enough to lift him rather than merely tapping it.
4. Match the spaceship power pattern
- Enter the spaceship.
- Turn each circle on the power boxes until every circle points either up or down.
- Look at the pattern shown on the interior panel and remember the arrangement.
- Exit the ship.
- At the far-right panel, reproduce the same pattern.
- Return to the spaceship and pull the far-left lever.
- A chain stops the mechanism. Click the chain, then pull the far-left lever again.
The interior panel is the clue; the far-right panel is where you enter it. Record each circle’s up-or-down direction in order before leaving, since the screen change can make the pattern harder to recall. If the lever does not complete the action, remove the obstruction by clicking the chain and operate the lever a second time. The chain is not an optional decoration: it is the reason the first lever pull stops.
5. First action stage: shoot the metal eaters
This section is a shooting sequence rather than a standard hotspot puzzle. Aim at the metal eaters and fire. The Jay Is Games walkthrough estimates that each enemy takes about four shots and reports that holding the mouse button produces continuous fire. That shot count is a practical guide estimate, not a published game statistic, so continue firing if an enemy remains active.

Keep the pointer on the targets while holding the mouse button instead of clicking once and waiting for a result. The goal is to clear the metal eaters so the route can continue; this stage does not provide a pattern clue needed later. Listings for the game indicate that action levels may be skipped after failure. Skipping sacrifices score but lets you continue the story if the shooting section is preventing progress.
6. Raise the pylons and cross
- Pull the far-left lever four times.
- Adjust the socket on the stick so it matches the height of the plug.
- Pull the far-left lever once more.
- Use the controls to lift the right pylon.
- Move Dralien across the gap.
- Release the right pylon.
- Lift the left pylon and continue onward.
The socket-and-plug alignment must be corrected before the final lever pull. If the pylon controls appear ineffective, return to the stick and set the socket to the plug’s height. Count the first four pulls separately from the fifth pull after alignment. Once the right pylon is raised, move Dralien across before releasing it; then use the left pylon to finish the crossing. Releasing the support too early can leave the route blocked.

- Inspect the graffiti near the doors.
- Study the patterns on the closed door choices.
- For each choice, select the door whose pattern differs from the others.
- Remember the distinct pattern you selected.
- Use that remembered pattern as the clue for the subsequent door choices.
Choosing incorrectly exposes Dralien to poisonous gas. The sequence can be restarted, so a wrong door is not a permanent failure. The puzzle is based on the odd pattern, not on a fixed left-to-right door position; compare the designs each time and retain the distinguishing design for the next decision. The graffiti helps establish what to look for, but the correct door can change position. Treat every new group as a visual comparison rather than guessing from the previous door’s location.
8. Second action stage: pilot through the cavern
Guide the spacecraft with the mouse through the cavern while avoiding obstacles. Keep the craft clear of the walls and incoming hazards rather than making large, sudden movements. Use small mouse movements and watch the route ahead before committing to a turn. The published walkthrough notes that this stage can be skipped at a score cost after failure, consistent with the skip option described by the game listings. Skipping is optional; it changes the score, not the story route.
9. Open the giant robot barrier
- Look at the barrier and read its colors from top to bottom.
- At the control panel, enter the colors in that same order.
- Use this sequence: red, purple, yellow, green.
Do not enter the colors in the order you notice them elsewhere on the screen. The relevant clue is specifically the barrier’s vertical order, from the top color down to the bottom color. If the panel accepts one color at a time, maintain the same top-to-bottom order rather than starting from the bottom or reversing the sequence.

10. Defeat the robot encounter
- Go to the central gun.
- Avoid relying on direct shots against the robot.
- Aim at the stalactite hanging above the robot.
- Shoot the stalactite so it falls onto the robot.
Directly shooting the robot pushes Dralien backward, which makes the encounter harder and does not solve the obstacle. The overhead stalactite is the intended target and turns the environment into the weapon. Position the pointer on the hanging rock, not on the robot’s body, before firing. If Dralien is pushed back, return to the central gun and use the stalactite approach.
11. Release Dralien’s mother
- At the final cage, identify the four levers from left to right.
- Pull the third lever from the left.
- Pull the leftmost lever.
- Pull the rightmost lever.
- Pull the second lever from the left.
The exact order is third, first, fourth, second when counted from the left. Completing it opens the cage and releases Dralien’s mother. Count the levers by position rather than by the direction of their handles, since the handles can move after each click. If the cage does not open, restart the sequence and make sure no lever was clicked twice.
What to do when a scene will not advance
Nothing highlights
Move the pointer slowly across the entire scene. Several solutions depend on small mechanisms at the extreme edges, such as the far-left lever, the far-right panel, or a control below a flower. Click only after the hotspot responds; random clicking can make it harder to see which object changed. Check both the foreground and the machinery behind Dralien before assuming the scene has stalled.
A sequence seems stuck
Restart the current interaction mentally from its first step and check the counts. The cannon requires four upper-left clicks and one lower-right click. The pylon setup requires four lever pulls, height alignment, and one additional pull. The final cage requires all four levers in the specified order. For the spaceship, confirm that you copied the interior pattern before trying the far-right panel and that you clicked the chain between lever pulls.
The gas doors punish a mistake
Use the restart opportunity rather than trying to force the next screen. Compare the door designs again and select the one pattern that differs from the other choices. Keep that odd design in mind for the next set. A poisonous-gas hit is a puzzle error, not proof that the whole game must be restarted.

An action section is too difficult
After failure, look for the option to skip the action stage. The game listings describe skipping as available with a score penalty. It is a progression shortcut, not a requirement, and it does not replace the puzzle solutions in the surrounding scenes. The two action sections are the metal-eater shooting stage and the spacecraft cavern stage; the door and lever sequences still require their normal clues.
