How to start A Forgotten Name
A Forgotten Name is associated with The Forgotten’s friendship questline and follows Poetic License. Finish Poetic License, then allow time for the next quest to appear. Reports differ on the delay: the quest page gives about 25 minutes, while The Forgotten’s character page gives 30 minutes. Destructoid also reports that the trigger can be glitchy, so neither a precise wait nor a guaranteed trigger time is established. If it does not appear, check the quest log and speak with The Forgotten. The quest page lists unlocking Ariel as a requirement, but that condition is not corroborated by the other walkthrough source; treat it as a listed prerequisite, not a confirmed universal requirement.

- Talk to The Forgotten to begin the quest.
- Follow the quest marker to Skull Rock Island and speak with them there. Skull Rock is at the southeast end of Dazzle Beach, beside a small offshore island.
The objectives and location are described in the quest listing and Destructoid’s walkthrough.

Choose a name for The Forgotten
The Forgotten asks for a real name. The available preset choices are Onyx, Jet, and Obsidian; you can also enter a custom name. Choose whichever you prefer: the walkthrough sources do not report a different quest outcome for any name.

After you name them, The Forgotten becomes a villager in the Valley. Shadows on the Wall begins automatically afterward, continuing the character’s story. Update 17’s history places this continuation within the Mysteries of Skull Rock story and notes its introduction of Peter Pan. See the Shadows on the Wall quest page and Update 17 history.
