Within a day of Hollow Knight: Silksong’s September 2025 release, YouTuber ShirrakoGaming reportedly said they had completed the game in one sitting. 4Gamers Thailand put the playtime at about 16 hours and 36 minutes—but that report does not independently verify that the session was uninterrupted or confirm the exact timing.
What was reported about the one-sitting finish?
In a story published September 5, 2025, 4Gamers Thailand reported that ShirrakoGaming had posted: “Hollow Knight Silksong Completed in one sitting.” The article described the playtime as approximately 16 hours and 36 minutes and said the claim came less than 24 hours after the game’s release. This is a report of an individual player’s claim, not independent confirmation of a continuous session. The available account does not establish how the time was measured or whether the entire playthrough was captured and verified. It also does not show how many other players completed the game in one sitting.
How is a one-sitting finish different from a speedrun?
“In one sitting” describes playing through the game in a single session; it does not, by itself, define a route, completion goal, or leaderboard result. A speedrun is evaluated within a specific category and its rules. Speedrun.com lists Silksong categories including Any%, True Ending, 100%, Act 1, Low%, and All Bosses. For a dated example of the distinction, PC Gamer reported on September 26, 2025, that Nebula had completed an Any% run in 58 minutes and 52 seconds. What does this tell you about how long Silksong takes to beat?
One reported completion cannot establish a typical playtime. A player’s route, exploration, deaths, and chosen completion goal can all affect how long a playthrough takes. A one-sitting claim also says nothing on its own about whether the player pursued a particular ending or completion percentage.

Before comparing two times, make sure they refer to the same kind of accomplishment. Useful details include whether a player finished in one session or several, the stated elapsed time, the completion goal or speedrun category, and—when it is a leaderboard run—its accepted rules, platform, and game patch. Also distinguish a player’s reported claim from a run documented and listed under leaderboard rules.
