Does a Starfield mod remove the takeoff loading screen? Seamless Planet Takeoffs SFSE (Beta) aims to hide it by keeping you in the cockpit as your ship rises from a planet. It does not eliminate the underlying loading transition, and the handoff can still be noticeable. The Nexus listing showed version 1.4, updated October 10, 2026; the mod remains in beta.

What does Seamless Planet Takeoffs change?

Created and uploaded by 0xBobby, Seamless Planet Takeoffs SFSE (Beta) targets planetary takeoff. Its description says it spawns the ship above the landing site to mask the loading screen. PC Gamer reported that the player stays in the cockpit while the ship rises through the atmosphere.

The underlying cell load still happens, so this is a visual workaround rather than a removal of loading. You may notice the transition when the game switches cells. Smoothness also varies with a planet’s atmosphere and weather; the creator says they are working to make it smoother.

PC Gamer described takeoff and landing transitions as examples of a criticism of Starfield’s travel presentation, contrasting them with seamless transitions in No Man’s Sky. That is the article’s comparison, not a measured player consensus or a technical benchmark.

Elebase USB to USB C Adapter for iPhone 18 Pro Max,USBC Car Charger Adapter
  • Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
  • Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
  • Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
  • Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
  • 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.

Does it make landings seamless too?

No. The mod’s page does not promise seamless landings. Its creator says that feature is substantially more complex and that the chances of them implementing it are “pretty much 0.” The mod is specifically about takeoff; it should not be understood as removing loading transitions throughout the game.

What do you need to install it?

  • What You Get: Anker USB-C Hub (5-in-1, 4K HDMI), welcome guide, 18-month warranty, and our friendly customer service.
  • Required: Starfield Script Extender (SFSE) and Address Library for SFSE Plugins.
  • Optional but recommended: Fly Closer To Planets in Cruise Mode. The mod page warns that without it, your ship may teleport upward when entering cruise mode after takeoff.

Because SFSE is required, platform support matters. The Nexus Starfield Vortex extension documentation says SFSE is Steam-only and does not work with the Xbox Game Pass version. The mod’s cited materials therefore point to a Steam-oriented setup; check the live mod requirements and your game version before installing.

What should you expect from a beta release?

The mod page labels the release beta. Its changelog records fixes for crashes, weather effects, camera problems, situations where shooting was unavailable, and quest-related crashes or softlocks. That history shows ongoing fixes; it does not establish that every bug is resolved.

Should you try it?

If you play the Steam version and want takeoff to feel less interrupted, this beta is a focused experiment: it masks the visible transition and keeps the takeoff sequence going, but cannot guarantee a completely invisible handoff. It is not a solution for seamless landings, and the result can vary by planet conditions. For general Vortex setup, Nexus’s Starfield Vortex Extension page lists Vortex 1.9.10 or later, with LOOT sorting requiring Vortex 1.12.0 or later. Those are Vortex extension details, not additional requirements stated for this mod.
