If Ubisoft Connect PC says “A Ubisoft service is currently unavailable. Please try again later” or “A Ubisoft service is not available at the moment,” it means the launcher cannot connect to Ubisoft Services—not necessarily that Ubisoft’s servers are down. Check Ubisoft’s current service information first, then work through the account, launcher, and connection checks below.
What the error means
Ubisoft’s Help article describes this message as Ubisoft Connect PC being unable to connect to Ubisoft Services: Ubisoft’s article about the error. It identifies a connection failure, not its cause. A service incident is one possibility; account credentials, the launcher, or a local connection issue may also be involved.
Fixes to try, in order
1. Check Ubisoft service information
Visit the Ubisoft Help home page and check for current service degradations or outages. The status can change, so rely on the live page rather than an old report. If Ubisoft lists an incident, wait for service to recover and try again; changing your PC settings is unlikely to fix a problem on Ubisoft’s side.
2. Verify your Ubisoft account credentials
Check that you are signing in with the correct email address and password. In a 2021 Ubisoft Support reply about this error, support noted that incorrect credentials can trigger it: Ubisoft Support reply on Steam. If you are unsure of the password, use Ubisoft’s account recovery process rather than repeatedly guessing.

3. Restart Ubisoft Connect and clear its cache
- Close Ubisoft Connect PC completely, then open it again and retry.
- If the error remains, follow Ubisoft’s current instructions for clearing the Ubisoft Connect PC cache. Use the instructions on that page for the current cache location; avoid relying on an old folder path.
Ubisoft Support recommended clearing the launcher cache in a 2021 reply. Clearing it is a client-side troubleshooting step, not a guaranteed fix.
4. Follow Ubisoft’s connectivity guidance and check security software
Use Ubisoft’s connectivity and performance troubleshooting guidance for the current steps. Also check whether your firewall or antivirus software is blocking Ubisoft Connect. Ubisoft Support recommended reviewing firewall and antivirus interference in replies from 2021 and 2019; do not turn off protection broadly or leave it disabled. If you identify a block, use the security product’s supported method to allow the Ubisoft application.

5. Compare this PC’s connection with other devices
As a diagnostic check, see whether other devices on the same network can access online services. If only Ubisoft Connect on this PC is affected, concentrate on the account, launcher, and security-software checks. If several devices or services are having trouble, the connection or router may be involved. This comparison helps narrow the issue; by itself, it does not establish what is causing the Ubisoft error.
6. Restart the router only if network symptoms point to it
A 2019 Ubisoft Support reply suggested turning the router off, unplugging it for one minute, then reconnecting it: Ubisoft Support reply on Steam. Treat this as older general troubleshooting, not a guaranteed remedy. Avoid interrupting other people’s work or an active download, and wait for the router to reconnect before testing Ubisoft Connect again.

7. Reserve advanced Windows changes for later
A 2021 Ubisoft Support reply also suggested running Ubisoft Connect as administrator, using Windows System File Checker, and trying an IPv6 change. These are older suggestions, not universally appropriate or proven fixes. Follow current Ubisoft or Microsoft instructions before changing Windows settings, and do not disable security protections or make broad network or registry changes without a specific, supported reason.

- The exact error wording and when it began.
- Whether Ubisoft’s Help page showed an outage or degradation when you checked.
- Whether other devices or online services on the same connection were affected.
- The steps you already tried and what happened after each one.
Do not assume the PC-specific guidance applies to every console or game-specific error. For those, check the support information for the affected platform and game.
