On 13 October 2025, IGN reported that files said to have been hacked from Pokémon developer Game Freak were circulating online, including screenshots and gameplay videos that appeared to show work-in-progress versions of Pokémon Legends: Z-A. The report did not independently authenticate each file, and beta material should not be treated as a record of what is in the released game.
What Pokémon Legends: Z-A files were reported?
IGN’s report, republished by Yahoo Tech, described newly circulating files as including screenshots and gameplay videos that appeared to depict beta builds of Pokémon Legends: Z-A. The distinction matters: the report characterized the footage as apparently showing development builds; it did not establish that every circulating file was genuine or provide an independently authenticated inventory of the material.
What did the gameplay videos show?
The report said the videos appeared to show beta material. It also noted that fans considered some features in the material absent from the final game, but the accessible article text does not substantiate a definitive feature-by-feature list. It is therefore not possible to reliably identify specific cut features from this report alone, or to assume that anything shown in an apparent beta build appears in the released game.

How does this relate to the 2024 Teraleak?
The 13 October 2025 report presented the files as a follow-up around the anniversary of the October 2024 Teraleak. It recounted that Game Freak had confirmed an August 2024 data breach affecting information about current and former employees. That acknowledgment concerned employee data; it is not confirmation of every alleged game file described in the later report.
The same report said Game Freak did not comment on the spread of hacked game data. The claims about the newly circulating Legends: Z-A files should consequently be understood as reported allegations, not as a direct confirmation from the developer.
