How many missions are in Ace Combat 8?
The mission order below is reported by KeenGamer’s all-missions guide: one Prologue and 30 numbered missions. It is a third-party guide, not a first-party mission database, so treat the names and order as its documented list.
The campaign begins in July 2029, after Sotoa invades the Federation of Central Usea (FCU) and occupies its capital, Theve. The player is rescued by the Endurance and given the fabricated identity “Wings of Theve,” a legend intended to sustain morale, according to Bandai Namco’s official game page.

Does Ace Combat 8 have branching missions?
KeenGamer’s guide says the campaign has no branching mission routes. That is a guide’s report, not a publisher-issued campaign flowchart. “Branching Path,” the operation name for Mission 18 in that same list, does not by itself indicate that the campaign splits into different routes.
Target choices happen within a sortie
There is tactical flexibility inside at least some missions. The official PlayStation Blog feature on Mission 7 says players choose which targets to attack and when to return to rearm. Producer Manabu Shimomoto described this mission category as embodying “the player’s ability to eliminate enemies based on their own judgment.” These are choices about how to complete a sortie, not evidence of a different mission sequence.

Bandai Namco’s launch announcement says decisions shape the FCU’s fate. The announcement does not provide a route map or explain that those decisions unlock alternate missions.
Does Ace Combat 8 have multiple endings?
The available mission guide describes a linear mission route, but the sources cited here do not establish whether choices alter the ending. Bandai Namco’s statement about shaping the FCU’s fate does not give an ending count, conditions for different outcomes, or an alternate-ending synopsis. It would therefore be premature to claim either that the game has multiple endings or that it has only one.

What kind of missions are in the campaign?
Bandai Namco’s game overview describes dogfights, ground support, and naval strikes, with aircraft and special weapons selected to suit mission briefings. For players deciding how to approach a sortie, that means loadout and target priorities matter even when the campaign order itself is reported as linear.
PlayStation’s 2026 campaign preview also highlights giant-weapon battles and describes the game as featuring “over 30 different aircraft,” spanning fighter, attack, multirole, and electronic-warfare roles. Those details set expectations for mission variety; they do not indicate alternate campaign routes.
