He also said he would keep discussing official Call of Duty information and topics unrelated to leaks. The demand’s exact terms and legal basis have not been independently established in the reporting available.
Who is TheGhostOfHope?
TheGhostOfHope is a prominent Call of Duty leaker. GameSpot reported that he made his announcement in a March 3, 2026 post, saying: “Activision has legally demanded that I stop leaking and disseminating confidential information related to Call of Duty/Activision and I am complying with their demands.” GameSpot’s March 4 report and Dot Esports’ August 4 coverage describe his statement and decision.
What did Activision reportedly demand, and what did Hope say he would do?
According to Hope’s public account, Activision demanded that he stop leaking and disseminating confidential information related to Call of Duty and Activision. He said he was complying. GameSpot also reported that he intended to remain part of the community and continue discussing official Call of Duty information and subjects outside leaks and confidential information. GameSpot’s report covered that stated plan.
The available reporting does not include the demand letter or an authoritative legal filing establishing its precise terms or legal basis. The demand and its scope should therefore be understood as reported through Hope’s statement, not as independently verified details of a legal document.

How did Call of Duty and Activision respond publicly?
When asked whether Hope had been right about everything, the official Call of Duty account replied, “Nah.” It then said: “Even when leaks are wrong, they still hurt the people building the game and mess with player expectations.” GameSpot and The Verge’s March 4 coverage reported the exchange.
On March 6, GameSpot reported a broader explanation from Activision: the company understands rumors and healthy speculation, but draws a line when leaks become viral misinformation. Activision said that such misinformation can undermine developers and distort player expectations, adding, “When that happens, we’re going to step in and set the record straight.” GameSpot’s March 6 report covered the company’s position.
