If AION 2 closes on your PC, there is no confirmed universal fix for the global build. Start by noting when it crashes, compare your system with the game’s published requirements, then check DirectX 12 support and graphics drivers one change at a time. NCSOFT’s October 2 known-issues notice does not list a PC crash, but that does not rule out individual reports or a separate support notice.
First, identify when the crash happens
Before changing settings, record what you see. A game that closes at startup is different from one that exits after the logo, during loading, or after you have begun playing. Note the exact error message, if any, and whether only the game closes or the whole PC restarts. These details help distinguish a game-client exit from a system-level failure when you contact support.
- When does the failure occur: startup, after the logo, loading, or gameplay?
- Does an error message appear? Copy its exact wording.
- Does Windows remain running, or does the PC restart?
- Are you launching through Steam or PURPLE?
Check your PC against AION 2’s published requirements
The Steam listing identifies AION 2 as a PC-only game built with Unreal Engine 5. Its published specifications are a compatibility baseline, not independent performance testing or a promise that a PC meeting them will never crash. Compare the full set of requirements, not just the graphics card.

These figures and preset guidance come from the AION 2 Steam listing, accessed October 4, 2026. If your PC falls below a listed minimum, note that mismatch before trying settings changes or considering upgrades. The SSD recommendation does not show that buying an SSD fixes crashes.

Check DirectX 12 and graphics drivers
A regional NCSOFT PURPLE notice describes a similar symptom—termination after the AION 2 logo—and advises ensuring DirectX is current and updating graphics drivers. That notice does not establish that the same issue affects the global Steam build, so treat these as sensible checks rather than a guaranteed fix.
- Confirm that your system and graphics hardware support DirectX 12, as required by the Steam listing.
- Check Windows and your graphics-card maker’s official software or support page for available DirectX and graphics-driver updates.
- Install one update or make one change at a time, then try launching the game again.
- Write down what you changed and whether the crash stage or error changed.
The regional guidance is published in NCSOFT’s PURPLE Lounge notice; its applicability to the global Steam release is unconfirmed.

Check whether NCSOFT has acknowledged the issue
NCSOFT’s Steam Community notice, “Advanced Access Known Issues (Updated: 10/2)”, lists two investigated problems: an incorrect title-menu display after earning a title, and Duties being unavailable until the day after reaching level 45 if the Map’s Duty tab was opened early. It does not list a PC crash. This only describes what that notice lists; it is not proof that no players are experiencing crashes or that no separate support notice exists.
AION 2 is in its global launch window: NCSOFT’s official global teaser site gives October 5, 2026 as the official launch date. As notices can change, check the official channels for a newer update if the problem continues.

When to contact AION 2 support
If the game keeps crashing after these checks, send support the details needed to understand your specific failure rather than trying risky system changes. The accessible AION 2 Global Support page confirms the support destination but does not provide a crash-specific fix.
- Launcher or platform: Steam or PURPLE
- Windows version
- CPU, graphics card and VRAM, and installed RAM
- Crash stage and exact error text
- Whether the PC itself restarts
- Checks or updates already tried, and what happened after each
