What “diamonds” means in Aion 2
The word “diamonds” is ambiguous because two different in-game concepts can appear in searches and player discussions.

Diamond Gemstone is listed by the AION 2 Atlas community map as one of three gem nodes collected through Essence Extraction. The same map lists four grades: Diamond Gemstone, Fine Diamond Gemstone, Pure Diamond Gemstone, and Radiant Diamond Gemstone. These names and uses come from a community reference rather than an official crafting database, so treat them as a practical guide, not a definitive recipe authority.

Quna: the premium currency
Quna is the premium currency identified by AION 2 Global Support. In its September 15, 2026 billing FAQ, support says players purchase Quna within Aion 2 and use it for premium purchases. The FAQ also states that NCoin cannot be used to purchase Quna or other premium offerings in Aion 2. Nothing in that notice calls Quna “Diamonds,” so a search for diamond farming should not be interpreted as a request for premium currency.

What Diamond Gemstone is used for
The AION 2 Atlas description says gems support three broad item categories. It does not publish complete recipe quantities, grade-by-grade requirements or a current list of tradeable outputs, so the categories below are the reliable planning level.
Accessories
Gem materials feed accessory crafting or enhancement according to the map’s item-use description. If you are gathering for an accessory project, record the exact grade you obtain rather than assuming every grade is interchangeable. The available sources do not establish whether a particular accessory accepts every Diamond Gemstone grade.
High-tier potions
The map also lists high-tier potions as a use for gems. “High-tier” describes the destination category, not a confirmed recipe tier or quantity. Check the current in-game recipe display before deciding how many veins to harvest.
Soulstones
Soulstones are the third listed use. As with accessories and potions, the sources do not provide verified recipe costs or confirm which Diamond Gemstone grades are required for each soulstone. Use the in-game crafting interface as the authority for a specific recipe.

Four grades are listed, but recipes are not fully documented
The map’s grade labels are useful when sorting your inventory: base Diamond Gemstone, Fine, Pure and Radiant. No source here establishes a conversion rule, drop rate, guaranteed grade by zone or market value for any of them. Do not price a farming plan around an assumed upgrade ratio or an unverified yield.
Where to farm Diamond Gemstone
The most detailed location source is the community AION 2 Atlas Diamond Locations map. Its data was retrieved October 12, 2026, and reports 356 mapped Diamond Gemstone veins worldwide: 156 in Verteron and 200 in Altgard. The publisher warns that its pins are not verified in-game. Veins are shared and respawn, so a marker can be empty when you arrive because another player gathered it.

Verteron locations highlighted by the map
- Drana Transport Hub — 25 mapped veins.
- Aullaeu Village Valley — 17 mapped veins.
- Kraka Footpath Wastewater Downstream — 13 mapped veins.
These are the highest-count Verteron areas named in the supplied map data. The remaining 101 mapped veins are distributed among other Verteron locations on the interactive map.
Altgard locations highlighted by the map
- Steel Hammer Workcamp — 49 mapped veins.
- Neglected Crematorium — 48 mapped veins.
- Victorious Daeva’s Statue — 28 mapped veins.
Those three areas account for 125 of Altgard’s 200 mapped pins. The other 75 are spread across additional locations shown by the map.

How to turn the map into a practical farming route
Because the map is a set of community pins rather than a verified spawn schedule, use it to plan a loop and to learn the terrain, not to promise a fixed number of items.

Start in Altgard if you want the larger reported pool of mapped pins. Choose Verteron if it is closer to your current activities or if its route fits your available travel time.
- Open the interactive Diamond Gemstone map and select a compact cluster. Begin with one named concentration instead of attempting every marker in the zone.
- Mark a loop through nearby pins. Arrange the route so the final stop returns you toward a city, a storage point or your next activity. The source does not provide an official fastest route, so route order is a personal navigation choice.
- Use Essence Extraction at each available vein. If a marker is empty, move to the next one rather than waiting at the location. The map specifically notes shared nodes and later respawns.
- Record what actually happens on your server and character. Note travel time, empty pins, grades collected and inventory space. These observations are more useful for your play pattern than the raw pin total.
- Revisit the loop after a respawn cycle. No verified respawn interval is supplied, so do not schedule around a claimed number. Recheck several sessions before deciding whether the route is worth repeating.
Is Altgard the best diamond farm?
Altgard has the higher reported node count: 200 mapped veins compared with Verteron’s 156. Its largest named concentrations are also denser on the map, with 49 at Steel Hammer Workcamp and 48 at Neglected Crematorium, versus Verteron’s largest named area, Drana Transport Hub, at 25.
That does not prove Altgard produces more gemstones per hour. The map provides no timed route tests, verified respawn interval, extraction yield, travel-cost comparison or market-price data. A route with fewer pins can be better for you if the nodes are closer together, safer to reach or less contested. The defensible conclusion is simply that Altgard offers more reported pins and stronger listed concentration; efficiency remains a server-and-player question.

How trading relates to Diamond Gemstone
NCSOFT’s August 12, 2025 announcement, AION 2 Showcases Core Combat Content and Signature Dungeon Gameplay, described the planned trade system as using in-game currency rather than premium currency. Producer Namjoon Kim said: “The Trade system enables players to exchange items using in-game currency instead of premium currency. After careful consideration, we designed this system to offer the most enjoyable experience for players.”
This statement establishes the intended distinction between an item-trade economy and premium purchases. It does not confirm that every Diamond Gemstone grade can currently be listed, identify a market fee, state minimum or maximum listing quantities, or describe restrictions by server, level or item binding. Those details require a current in-game market screen or official item documentation.

What you can safely infer
- The announced trade concept uses in-game currency, not Quna or another premium balance.
- Diamond Gemstone is an item, so its eligibility must be checked in the live trade interface rather than assumed from the announcement.
- A gemstone’s usefulness for your own accessories, potions or soulstones may be greater than its resale value; no current price source is provided here.
What remains unknown
- Which of the four listed grades are tradeable.
- Whether a particular grade is bound on pickup or bound after use.
- Current listing taxes, transaction fees or posting limits.
- Live prices, daily volume and the effect of server population.
Quna is not a gemstone substitute
The official billing FAQ separates premium purchases from item trading. It says: “No, NCoin cannot be used to purchase Quna or other premium offerings in Aion 2. Players can purchase Quna within Aion 2 to make premium purchases within the game.” Read that as a currency clarification, not as a farming method: Quna is purchased inside the game, while Diamond Gemstone is gathered through Essence Extraction.
Do not plan to convert mined gemstones directly into Quna unless a current, official feature explicitly provides that exchange. The cited materials do not describe one.
Real-money trading is not a safe farming option
The AION 2 Global Operation Policy defines real-money trading to include exchanging game items or in-game currency for real money or outside goods and services. It also covers trading items for items from other games. That means third-party currency sellers, off-platform gemstone deals and “cash for items” arrangements are not legitimate alternatives to gathering or the in-game trade system.
Keep transactions inside the game’s supported systems. Do not share account credentials, send payment to a seller who promises currency, or advertise a gemstone sale as policy-compliant without checking the current rules. A route that produces fewer materials is still safer than an arrangement that risks account action or fraud.
Do diamonds and sapphires spawn together?
The available map description identifies Diamond Gemstone as one of three gem-node types, but it does not provide a verified co-spawn rule with sapphires or any other gem. An apparent overlap on a community map is not proof that two materials share a spawn table, respawn timer or exact coordinate. Treat each marker as a lead for the named material and confirm what appears at the node in your own game.

Common farming problems and how to handle them
A map pin is empty
Another player may have gathered the shared vein, or the community pin may be inaccurate. Continue along the loop, note the result and return later. Do not treat one empty marker as evidence that the entire zone is depleted.
You collect a different grade than expected
Sort the material by its full name—base, Fine, Pure or Radiant—and check the recipe that you actually intend to make. The sources do not establish that a zone guarantees one grade.
The route feels unprofitable
There is no verified market price or yield-per-hour benchmark in the available evidence. Measure your own travel time, extraction count and usable grades over several runs, then compare that result with the value of keeping the material for your own crafting.

You cannot list the gemstone
Check whether the item is bound, whether that grade is eligible and whether the live market has a level or quest requirement. None of those restrictions is documented by the cited sources, so use the current in-game message rather than a community assumption.
Bottom line for a new farmer
Start with Diamond Gemstone as a crafting material, not as Aion 2’s premium currency. Use the October 2026 community map to choose a Verteron or Altgard loop, with Altgard offering the larger reported pool of 200 mapped veins versus 156 in Verteron. Expect empty or inaccurate pins because the map is unverified and nodes are shared. Confirm your own grades and route time, check the live trade interface before assuming an item is sellable, and keep every transaction inside the game’s approved systems. Quna is a separate premium currency purchased in-game, and the official policy does not permit real-money trading of items or currency.
