AION 2’s global launch went live on October 5, 2026. The MMORPG is available on Windows PC through Steam and NCSOFT’s PURPLE platform, with four server regions and eight in-game languages. The launch applies to the global service; Korea and Taiwan received the game earlier, on November 19, 2025.
Is AION 2 out on Steam?
Yes. In an official Steam announcement dated October 5, 2026, the AION 2 Team said, “Daevas, AION 2 is live!” A separate notice gave the launch time as 6:00 AM PDT / 15:00 CEST. The preceding maintenance notice said Advanced Access had ended and commercial launch began during the October 4 PDT / October 5 CEST maintenance window. AION 2 Team launch and maintenance notices.

Where can you play AION 2?
The global version is a Windows PC game distributed through Steam and NCSOFT’s PURPLE platform. Official launch FAQ information says Steam and PURPLE players share servers, and an existing character can be accessed across the two clients. The cited official information lists Steam and PURPLE on Windows PC as supported. It does not establish official support for mobile, Linux, or Steam Deck. Official support FAQ.
Which regions and languages are available?
The global-service announcement lists four server regions and eight in-game languages. Server region and interface or game language are separate choices: the published list does not say that a particular language is restricted to a matching server location. What kind of game is AION 2?
NCSOFT describes AION 2 as an MMORPG and sequel to AION, set 200 years after the original. Its official setting description centers on the collapse of the Tower of Eternity, the loss of power among the Daevas, and conflict involving the Elyos, Asmodians, and Balaur. NCSOFT’s 2025 description also promotes eight classes, Unreal Engine 5 graphics, manual combat with responsive hit detection, extensive PvE exploration, and detailed character customization. On October 5, 2026, the AION 2 Team thanked players for helping the game reach 400,000 active users. That is the publisher’s stated milestone; the notice does not define it as concurrent players, unique accounts, or an independently audited count. AION 2 Team announcement.
