Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →If AION 2 has no Play button after preload, restart Steam. If it is installed but will not start, verify its game files, then check for a graphics driver update. These are suggestions from a Sportskeeda guide published October 5, 2026—not confirmed fixes from NCSoft, and none is guaranteed to resolve every launch problem.
Try these steps in order
The steps below address two different symptoms: a missing Play button after preload and a game that is installed but will not launch. The recommendations come from Sportskeeda’s October 5, 2026 guide; the available information does not establish a single cause or success rate.
1. Restart Steam if Play is unavailable after preload
- Exit Steam completely, including from its system-tray menu.
- Open Steam again and check AION 2 in your Library.
The guide suggests a client restart may allow the game’s unpacking step to begin. If the Play button is present but the game will not start, move to file verification instead.
2. Verify the installed game files if AION 2 will not start
- Open Steam Library.
- Right-click AION 2 and select Properties.
- Open Installed Files.
- Select Verify integrity of game files and let Steam complete the check.
According to the guide, this check may redownload missing or corrupt files. It is a repair attempt, not proof that damaged files caused the problem.

3. Check for a graphics driver update
The same guide recommends checking for an updated graphics driver through the GPU manufacturer’s website or a relevant driver app. This is a general troubleshooting suggestion; the available sources do not show that an outdated driver is the cause of every AION 2 launch failure.
Check whether your PC meets Steam’s requirements
Steam lists AION 2 as a PC-only game and publishes these system requirements on its store page. Compare your system against them as a compatibility check, not as a diagnosis of why the game is failing to launch.
