Yes—NCSOFT says AION 2 exceeded 400,000 peak concurrent users when its global service began on October 5, 2026. That is the publisher’s reported peak, not an independently audited count, and NC did not publish a platform-by-platform breakdown. October was the game’s global launch, not its first service in every market.
What the 400,000 figure means
In an October 6 announcement, NCSOFT said AION 2 surpassed 400,000 concurrent users on the first day of global service. “Concurrent” describes users playing at the same time; it is not a count of total accounts, downloads, or unique players. The release does not explain how NC measured the peak, how long it lasted, or how many users were on each platform. NC’s launch announcement is the source for the number.
NC also reported that AION 2 reached No. 1 in Steam’s Top Sellers chart in 15 countries during early access, and ranked No. 1 in Steam’s Popular New Releases and Trending Free charts on October 6. Those are publisher-reported chart positions tied to the dates and period stated—not evidence of a continuing rank or an independent assessment of total players.
October was the global launch, not the first launch
AION 2 had already launched in South Korea and Taiwan on November 19, 2025. NC’s earlier announcement scheduled service in those markets for midnight Korea time. The October 5, 2026 date marks the start of global service beyond that initial regional release. NC’s November 2025 announcement documents the Korea and Taiwan launch.

Where and how to play AION 2 globally
NC describes AION 2 as a PC MMORPG and named Steam and its PURPLE platform as global distribution channels. Its announcement says servers were operating in North America, South America, Europe, and Asia (Japan). The global release supports eight languages; NC names English, Japanese, French, German, and Spanish, but the announcement does not identify the other three. The Steam listing is one official access route.
NC said a five-day early-access period for Founder’s Pack purchasers began September 30, 2026. That paid early-access detail does not establish that the game requires purchase: NC also reported a No. 1 position in Steam’s Trending Free chart on October 6. Check the current Steam or PURPLE listing for the applicable access terms in your region.

Global launch rewards and deadlines
The official global site advertised two login mounts as digital rewards delivered through in-game mail. The offer required account creation and claiming by deadlines in December 2026. Because those dates have passed, the announcement is not evidence that the rewards remain available; check the official site for current event status.
