NC says AION 2 surpassed 400,000 peak concurrent users when its global official service began on October 5, 2026. That is a launch-wide figure, not a confirmed Steam-only count: NC named both Steam and its PURPLE launcher as PC distribution channels but did not provide a platform breakdown.
What does the 400K figure mean?
NC’s October 6, 2026 announcement says AION 2 exceeded 400,000 peak concurrent users at the start of official global service. “Peak concurrent” refers to the number of users playing at the same time at the reported peak; NC’s announcement does not say how many of them were on Steam versus PURPLE. NC’s announcement therefore supports a launch-scale milestone, but not the headline claim that Steam alone reached 400,000 concurrent players.
A separate October 5 post from the official AION 2 Steam Community feed thanked players for helping the game reach “400,000 active users.” That notice uses different wording from NC’s peak-concurrency claim, and neither source explains whether the two totals were measured in the same way. They should not be treated as interchangeable.
When and where did AION 2 launch?
NC dates the global service launch to October 5, 2026, local time. The official Steam launch notice listed the scheduled unlock as 6:00 AM PDT / 15:00 CEST that day and declared, “Daevas, AION 2 is live!” The Steam notice confirms the Steam launch timing; NC says global PC service was available through Steam and PURPLE.

Before official service, a five-day Early Access period began September 30 for Founder’s Pack purchasers, according to NC’s October 2026 announcement. NC said the game reached Steam’s global Top Sellers number-one position and ranked first in 15 countries during that Early Access period. Those are publisher-reported, time-specific results, not a claim about its current ranking.
What else was reported about the launch?
- Launch regions: NC named servers in North America, South America, Europe, and Asia (Japan).
- Language support: NC reported eight supported languages. Its cited announcement names English, Japanese, French, German, and Spanish, but does not identify the other three in that text.
- Steam charts: As of October 6, NC said AION 2 was number one on Steam’s global Popular New Releases and Trending Free charts. This is a dated publisher statement, not a standing chart position.
The chart and Early Access claims appear in NC’s announcement. They provide launch context, but do not establish a record for Steam or for concurrent users across all games.

Are there launch rewards?
The official AION 2 site advertised two free in-game mounts for eligible players. Its stated deadlines were account creation by December 2, 2026 at 3:30 PM JST and claiming the rewards by December 9, 2026 at 3:30 PM JST. Because these are dated offer terms, check the official site for current eligibility and availability before relying on them.
