Hello, Peach! and Hello, Luigi! are free character-play apps for young children. On Nintendo’s Canadian listings, both launched for Nintendo Switch on October 5, 2026, with Nintendo Switch 2 compatibility. Players touch and play with Peach’s or Luigi’s face, summon familiar characters and objects, and play peekaboo. Nintendo says the apps work offline after download.
What do you do in Hello, Peach! and Hello, Luigi!?
Each app is a simple touch-based play experience built around its featured character. Players can stretch, poke, or spin Peach’s or Luigi’s face and watch the character react. A menu marked with a question block brings up familiar objects and characters, including mushrooms, stars, pipes, or enemies. A peekaboo option can bring Boo into view.
Nintendo describes the same core activities for both apps. The clearest difference is which character you want on screen: Peach or Luigi. The listings identify each app as a one-player experience on a single system.
Are the apps free, and can you play offline?
Nintendo lists both apps as free digital downloads in its Canadian Nintendo Switch store. Nintendo says an internet connection is not needed to play after downloading; its Peach listing states, “There’s no need to be connected to the internet to play this application. After you download it, you’re good to go!”

What happens when the character goes to sleep?
After a while, the app gives the character a sleep break. Poking the character will not wake them. Nintendo says this feature can be turned off in the app’s startup settings.
Which devices can run them?
Nintendo’s Canadian product listings specify Nintendo Switch and say the apps are compatible with Nintendo Switch 2. They list touchscreen and NFC support and handheld play. The listed file sizes are 200 MB per app on Switch; on Switch 2, Nintendo lists 215 MB for Hello, Peach! and 214 MB for Hello, Luigi!. File sizes can vary by platform or listing update.

- Nintendo Switch is the home of Mario & friends
Nintendo’s My Mario support page describes the Hello, Mario! series as available on smartphones and tablets as well as Switch and Switch 2. It lists iOS 15 or later, or Android 6.0 or later with at least 2 GB of RAM, a 64-bit CPU, and OpenGL ES 3.0 or later. Nintendo cautions that meeting those requirements does not guarantee an app will work on every device. Since specific mobile store listings for Peach and Luigi were not confirmed across regions, check your regional app store for availability before trying to download either one.
Are My Mario wooden blocks required?
No. Nintendo describes the wooden My Mario character blocks as optional amiibo figures. Tapping a compatible block during play can bring the corresponding character into the app; Nintendo’s Spanish Peach page names Mario, Yoshi, Luigi, and Peach blocks and says scanning them switches the character. The apps are free to download and do not require a block.
