What is Alien: Rogue Incursion Evolved Edition?

The story follows rogue Colonial Marine Zula Hendricks as she investigates a distress call on Purdan. Her search leads to a Weyland-Yutani blacksite overrun by Xenomorphs. PlayStation describes the game as the first chapter of a two-part saga set between Alien and Aliens.
What is different about the PS5 version?
PlayStation describes the game as rebuilt for PS5, with 60 fps, 3D audio, haptic feedback and adaptive triggers. Its listing also confirms DualSense vibration and trigger effects. These are the listed PS5 features; they do not, by themselves, establish how the game performs in every play situation.

In a September 30, 2025 Tom’s Guide interview, game director Eugene Elkin said the developers spent time bringing Xenomorph movement and behavior into traditional console play. He also said the enemies’ behavior was modified because VR players cannot move as quickly. Those comments explain the adaptation rationale; they are interview remarks, not independent performance tests.
In the same interview, creative director and chief product officer T.Q. Jefferson described using the PS5 controller’s gyro to aim as a way to add immersion. PlayStation’s store listing confirms DualSense features, while the interview provides the team’s explanation of the gyro-aiming approach.

Does it require VR, or can you play offline?
No VR headset is required for Evolved Edition: it is the non-VR edition for conventional screen-and-controller play. The PS5 store listing describes one-player play and offline play. It also lists PS5 and PS Portal cloud streaming support, which requires a PlayStation Plus Premium subscription.
The original VR release and Evolved Edition are presented as separate products on the official store pages. Those listings do not establish an entitlement to a free or discounted non-VR upgrade for owners of the VR game, so check the relevant store offer rather than assuming one is included.
