The headline refers to the Alienware AW3423DWF, a 34.1-inch curved QD-OLED gaming monitor. HotHardware reported it at $499.99 on Amazon on January 17, 2026, calling that 28% off and a $200 saving; it also reported the same clearance price at Dell. PCWorld reported a $500 Amazon offer on February 16. Those are past offers, not confirmation of a price available today.
Which Alienware monitor was on sale?
It was the AW3423DWF, not either of the later models, AW3425DW or AW3426DW. HotHardware’s January 17, 2026 deal report identified the AW3423DWF at $499.99 on Amazon, described as 28% off and $200 below the suggested price of $899.99. The article also said Dell had the monitor for the same price on clearance. HotHardware’s dated deal report is the source for those figures.
PCWorld separately reported a $500 Amazon price on February 16, 2026, also describing it as 28% off. That corroborates a historical offer, but neither report establishes the monitor’s live price, seller, or stock on October 4, 2026. PCWorld’s February report is likewise time-specific. HotHardware also described the AW3423DWF’s street price as around $650 for most of 2025; that is the publication’s account of price history, not an independently verified price-tracking series.
What does the AW3423DWF offer?
The AW3423DWF pairs a 34.1-inch QD-OLED panel with a 3440×1440 ultrawide resolution. HotHardware reports refresh rates of up to 165Hz over DisplayPort and 100Hz over HDMI, plus AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and VESA DisplayHDR 400 True Black certification. The connection used matters: the reported 165Hz figure is for DisplayPort, not HDMI.

PCWorld describes the panel as curved at 1800R, with a 165Hz refresh rate and 0.1ms response time, and also lists FreeSync Premium Pro and VESA AdaptiveSync. These are published specifications, not results from a controlled comparison of the AW3423DWF with its successors.
How do the later Alienware models compare?
The newer models increase the stated refresh rate, but their specifications should not be mistaken for those of the AW3423DWF.

What should you check before buying?
- Confirm the exact model. Make sure a listing says AW3423DWF if that is the monitor you want; AW3425DW and AW3426DW are different products with different refresh-rate specifications.
- Check the live total and seller. The $499.99 Amazon and Dell clearance offers were reported in January 2026, and PCWorld’s $500 Amazon report was in February. Confirm current price, availability, seller, and return terms directly with the retailer.
- Match the connection to your setup. The AW3423DWF’s reported maximum is 165Hz through DisplayPort and 100Hz through HDMI. If you plan to connect a laptop or several devices, check the actual ports you need; PC Gamer specifically notes that the AW3426DW lacks USB-C.
- Decide how much refresh rate matters. The AW3423DWF’s 165Hz may suit a different priority than the 240Hz AW3425DW or 280Hz AW3426DW. Higher stated refresh rates are relevant to fast competitive games, but the cited specifications do not establish which monitor performs best in a controlled head-to-head test.
- Compare the complete purchase, not just the headline discount. Consider resolution and ultrawide format, refresh rate, HDR class, required connectivity, warranty, and the current price together.
