There are 15 Fen’Harel Altars in Dragon Age: The Veilguard, spread across six regions. Activate each wolf statue, follow the direction it faces, then find and collect the spectral wolf’s revealed object for one skill point. Some routes require story or regional quest progress, a companion ability, or a traversal unlock.
How Fen’Harel Altars work
Interact with the large wolf statue to make it turn toward a route. Follow that direction to the spectral wolf and collect the object it reveals; each completed altar awards one skill point. The altar itself may appear on your map when you approach it, and regional or overall trackers can help identify what remains.
These are not the smaller wolf statuettes tied to “Regrets of the Dread Wolf,” nor the Evanuris Altars, which award health. PowerPyx reports 15 Fen’Harel Altars and 14 Evanuris Altars, for 29 total; its guide says completing all 29 unlocks the “No Real Gods” trophy or achievement. The guide notes that the official trophy description may mention only Evanuris Altars; an official platform listing was not verified here.
Treviso: 1 altar
Heart and Central
The region’s only altar is in a courtyard-like open area beyond Antaam defenses, reached through an alley. It faces north. Follow the path, then break the boxes in the nearby nook to reveal the figurine. As an alternate landmark, GameSpot places the area behind Dellamorte Estates when travelling east from the Heart and Central beacon; inspect the nook to the north. PowerPyx, Push Square, GameSpot.

Arlathan Forest: 3 altars
Shoreside Ruins
Find the altar in a tunnel at the back of the stream. Its reward is on a raised platform in the Shoreside Courtyard area. Companion exploration quests may also bring you through this area. PowerPyx, GameSpot.
Mystical Tower
After opening the route or bridge to the tower, reach the northwest tower area. The altar is outside one of the exits near the upper area. Follow its direction back toward the floating platforms and check behind the elven statue’s head on a platform. PowerPyx, Push Square.
Tainted Woods
This later-access area has an altar behind a destructible wall. Shoot the explosive containers on top of the wall with a ranged attack. Activate the altar, follow the path south to its dead end, and collect the figurine. PowerPyx, Push Square, GameSpot.

Dock Town: 2 altars
Andraste’s Watch
The altar is in northern Dock Town, in an area opened through the “In Memoriam” regional quest. Follow the wooden boards beside the altar down toward the water. Expect an encounter near the collectible. PowerPyx, Push Square, GameSpot.

Guides frame this southern or western Dock Town location differently on the map. It is accessible later: open the large door with the dagger, then climb behind the altar and take the power keystone. Place it at the outside mechanism to form a bridge, cross it, and collect the figurine. GameSpot describes the nearby chamber, crystal receptacle, and turret-built bridge. Hossberg Wetlands: 2 altars
Flooded Farmlands
In the eastern wetlands, look behind a ruined hut or near the far side of the area. The altar faces west; its reward is on a shed or small hut roof near a fast-travel point. Push Square’s route uses Harding’s rock-moving power to raise a platform behind the shed. PowerPyx, Push Square, GameSpot.

Lost Village
The second altar is in the western Lost Village area and faces south toward a damaged opening in a stone wall. Take the route around the water, burst the nearby blight boil, and open the blight gate to reach the figurine in the old building. PowerPyx, Push Square, GameSpot.
Rivain Coast: 2 altars
Winding Shoreline
Near the region entrance, destroy the wall on the north side of the ruined building to enter. The altar faces west toward the beach; follow the beach to find the object. PowerPyx, Push Square, GameSpot.

The altar sits atop a central cliff or rock formation and faces north toward nearby waterfalls. Climb partway up the falls to find the figurine at a pool. PowerPyx, Push Square, GameSpot.

The Crossroads: 5 altars
Converged City: first altar
From the main area, take the sloping path on the left, east and uphill from the main region. The altar faces north; the figurine is on a nearby cliff edge. PowerPyx, Push Square, GameSpot.
Converged City: second altar
This altar is in a later-unlocked area on the Gate of Lost Ages route. Start the gate quest, defeat Quyn the Sparkwielder in Dock Town, and use the champion essence to open the seal. Solve the crystals puzzle to reach the arena-like section, then climb to the reward. PowerPyx, GameSpot.
Heights of Athim: first altar
Near the arrival area, head east and uphill. The altar faces north; reach a ledge overlooking the region to find the reward. Push Square says access to this reward route is gated by the “Disrupt and Conquer” story quest, triggered through a nearby Solas memory. PowerPyx, Push Square.

Heights of Athim: second altar
Look east in the region, by a large blighted tree or at the back courtyard of the fortress. The altar faces west. Return downhill and climb the ruined building to its upper floor; the figurine is near a ladder. PowerPyx, Push Square, GameSpot.
Elvhenan’s Haven
This altar is on a lower ledge near a cliff on the floating eastern Crossroads landmass. Reach it after clearing the relevant champion and blight progression. The altar faces north toward the reward on the northern island. GameSpot describes using nearby statues to form a bridge to the rock formation. PowerPyx, Push Square, GameSpot.
When to collect them and what to check if a route is blocked
Some altars can be reached early; others depend on story progress, regional quests, companion abilities, seals, or traversal routes. Named gates in the guides include “Loyal Friends” for an Arlathan sealed-door altar, “The Magic of the Ancients” for access to an Arlathan tower route, “In Memoriam” for part of Andraste’s Watch, and “Disrupt and Conquer” for a Crossroads reward route. Other routes require a champion essence, the Dock Town dagger and bridge mechanism, or Harding’s rock-moving ability. The exact order can vary with progression and companion availability.
- Advance the story and relevant companion or regional quests until the regions, routes, and abilities described above are available.
- Use the regional altar trackers to see which collectibles remain, then sweep by region and subarea.
- If you reach an altar but not its reward, check for an unopened quest route, champion seal, required companion power, destructible barrier, or blight gate.
PowerPyx reports that the altars are not missable and can be completed after the story, so a post-story sweep is an option.
