Nahantu and its Tenets of Akarat are expansion content from Vessel of Hatred. You need the Diablo IV base game as well as the expansion, although the exact bundles and platform editions available may vary. Check the edition and platform compatibility before buying Diablo IV Vessel of Hatred.
Tenets are not collected like Altars of Lilith. When you reach one, look for the nearby interaction that cleanses the shrine. The most common objectives are:

- Activate one or three Stone Guardians, sometimes within a short time window.
- Copy the pattern shown by a second group of illuminated statues.
- Activate a guardian and defeat the Shades of Hatred or other enemies that spawn.
- Attack the shrine, vines, tendrils, or other corruption until it disappears.
After the puzzle or encounter is complete, return to the shrine and interact with the revealed Tenet.

How the Tenet shrine puzzles work
Three Stone Guardians
Some shrines have three nearby Stone Guardians. Activate all three as quickly as possible, particularly when the lights can expire. If one guardian is not obvious, search around the shrine rather than assuming the puzzle has failed; one can be positioned farther away or behind nearby terrain.
Statue pattern matching
Look beyond, behind, or above the shrine for a second group of illuminated statues. The nearby interactable guardians must reproduce that pattern. The exact arrangement is shrine-specific, so use the visible display rather than relying on a sequence from a different location.

Guardian followed by enemy waves
Activating a red or Stone Guardian can summon Shades of Hatred or other local enemies. Defeat every wave that appears. The Tenet may remain unavailable until the encounter is finished.
Corruption removal
Some shrines are covered by corruption, vines, tendrils, or a damaged outer shell. Attack the obstruction or the shrine itself until its health is depleted and the Tenet is revealed. Only then can you interact with it.
Rewards for completing Tenets
- Each Tenet contributes Nahantu renown.
- Each completion grants experience.
- Tenets help advance the Nahantu renown track, which can provide regional rewards such as skill points and increased potion capacity.
- Completing all 30 awards the Akarat’s Dedicant title.
- Finishing the complete set awards the Reins of the Nahantu Lion mount.
They do not provide the permanent stat bonuses associated with Altars of Lilith. Their value is instead tied to Nahantu progression, experience, completion rewards, the title, and the mount.

What to do if a Tenet is missing or cannot be activated
Two Field of Giants shrines near Ichorfall have been the subject of player reports and Blizzard forum discussions describing missing or non-interactable Tenets, especially in some seasonal contexts. Treat this as a possible bug affecting particular sessions or characters, not as proof that every player will encounter a problem.

If a shrine does not appear or cannot be interacted with, try the following community-reported workarounds:
- Move away from the area and return.
- Leave the current game session and enter a new one.
- Change world difficulty and check the shrine again.
- Check after a later game patch in case the issue has been corrected.

Before assuming the shrine is bugged, verify that you are at the correct duplicate location—particularly the two Beast Fate Wilderness shrines near Ichorfall, the two Nether Valley shrines, and the northern and southern Skittering Scars/Skittering Earth shrines.

There are two Tenets in Beast Fate Wilderness: one northeast of Ichorfall and another southwest of Ichorfall. The coordinate list identifies the northeastern shrine at 69, -189, 10, but does not provide a separate coordinate for the southwestern shrine.
