Set the time to night at a Site of Grace before searching. Each tear can be used for rebirth, which reallocates attributes gained by leveling.

Use the nearest Site of Grace or landmark below to find each tear. These are the approaches listed by Gamer Guides; the routes are not ranked by speed.

- Gravesite Plain: Search the rocky patch east of the Gravesite Plain Site of Grace.
- Cliffroad Terminus: Head southeast from Cliffroad Terminus Site of Grace. If you have not unlocked that grace, approach from Main Gate Cross via the narrow path to the southeast.
- Greatbridge, North: Look among the trees east of Greatbridge, North Site of Grace.
- Pillar Path Waypoint, southeast: Cross Ellac Greatbridge and follow the path to the right. From Pillar Path Waypoint, continue uphill to the southeast toward the trees.
- Pillar Path Waypoint, northwest: From Pillar Path Waypoint, head northwest. The guide’s route through this area goes via Castle Ensis.
- Highroad Cross: Search northeast of Highroad Cross Site of Grace. The guide suggests approaching from Pillar Path Waypoint.
- Cathedral of Manus Metyr: Go north of the cathedral. Reach the area through Bonny Village.
- Ancient Ruins Base: Search southwest of Ancient Ruins Base Site of Grace. Alternatively, start at Moorth Ruins, enter the cave to the north, and follow the path northeast.
- Ravine North: Search the open field directly north of Ravine North Site of Grace.
When to search
The Gamer Guides location page says Larval Tears in the Realm of Shadow are obtainable only at night. Change the time at a Site of Grace before visiting a location. That page was last updated August 12, 2024; whether a later patch changed the nighttime condition has not been confirmed by an official patch note cited here.
What Larval Tears do
A Larval Tear is used for rebirth, allowing you to reallocate attributes gained by leveling. Collecting the DLC tears can therefore help if you want to change your build or try a different playstyle. See the Larval Tear item reference for item details.

How to reach the Realm of Shadow
To access the DLC area, the official Elden Ring site says you must first defeat Starscourge Radahn and Mohg, Lord of Blood. Once those requirements are met, travel to the Realm of Shadow from the Cocoon of the Empyrean Site of Grace in Siofra River. After unlocking a Site of Grace in the DLC area, use the map menu to move between the base game and the Realm of Shadow. See Bandai Namco’s DLC access instructions.
