Spoilers for all four puzzle strands in Blue Prince’s A New Clue, including a Microchip location, the sundial sequence, and an admin credential.
A New Clue contains four connected-but-distinct puzzles: a tiny-word clue that leads to a Microchip, a sign-based route through a metro map, a book-word extraction that reveals how to raise the Satellite Dish, and a suspect puzzle that yields a reported terminal key. The walkthrough below follows the book’s clues in that order. The book is attributed to Mary Marigold and can be found in the in-game Bookshop; this is not a guide to a physical book. Gamexplore’s walkthrough, published April 21, 2025, is the source for the solutions below.

What are the four puzzles in A New Clue?
The book’s puzzle strands are the low-case clue, the signs, the book anagram, and the suspect puzzle. The walkthrough counts the title page as page one. The first three strands connect through the west-bridge Microchip and the Satellite Dish sequence; the suspect puzzle separately produces a credential for the Blackbridge Grotto terminal. Gamexplore’s walkthrough describes these solutions.
How do you solve the low-case clue?
- On page six, use the in-game magnifying glass to inspect the tiny numbered words. Put the words in numerical order to read an instruction about checked Corner Cases rooms.
- Use the list on page five to identify the rooms: Patio, Nook, Office, and Pantry.
- Visit those rooms and find the note in each one. Take the word printed in lower-case letters from each note, following the page-five list order.
- Combine the words to read “Buried beside west bridge.”
- Take the in-game shovel outside and dig beside the bridge on the West Path. The walkthrough reports that this uncovers a Microchip, one of the three associated with the Blackbridge Grotto door.
Gamexplore’s walkthrough supplies the page clues, room order, and reported reward.

- A HISTORY IN THE MAKING - As the heir of Mt. Holly, you have been tasked to explore its shifting halls in search of Room 46. - DAY ONE EDITION BONUSES - Pack-in bonuses include 18” x 12” fold-out poster of the magnificent Mt. Holly Manor and a download code for the official game soundtrack.
How do the signs reveal the metro route?
Record the signs shown throughout the book. Pages 18–19 explicitly prompt you to have seen them. The walkthrough identifies signs including Route 8, Depart, Keep Left, To Tanner Fork, Right Turn, Dead End, Record, Every, Stop, and On The Way.
- Find the partly obscured metro map at the train station in the Safehouse.
- If you have not reached the Safehouse, the walkthrough says to travel there by boat from the Reservoir after setting the Pump Room water level to 6.
- Use the sign clues to trace a route across the map, starting at station 8 and continuing to the dead end.
The stations visited in order are 8, 7, 3, 10, 1, 13. These numbers are used again in the book-word extraction. The map location and route solution are reported by Gamexplore.

The resulting instruction is “turn scorched sundial base.” This extraction and its word positions are reported in Gamexplore’s walkthrough.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. How do you use the sundial clue to raise the Satellite Dish?
- Go to the sundial in the Apple Orchard.
- Use the in-game Burning Glass on the sundial base. The walkthrough describes the Burning Glass as a Magnifying Glass combined with a Metal Detector.
- Rotate the base until its lines align. The walkthrough says this reveals three Microchip slots.
- Insert all three Microchips to raise the Satellite Dish.
Gamexplore reports this sequence as the payoff for the book-word extraction.

How do you solve the suspect puzzle and find the A. key?
The final-page image and magnified suspect list lead to four minors in the walkthrough’s interpretation: Richard Scott (12), Sandra Dillon (14), Bo Lee (16), and Charles Riscal (12). The pictured notes point to an “A. key,” which Gamexplore interprets as an admin key.
The guide’s reported key format is the first four letters of the surname followed by the first-name initial, capitalized. Applying that format to Bo Lee gives LeeB. The walkthrough reports that this credential works at the Blackbridge Grotto terminal and grants access to Network Settings, User Database, Admin Logs, and Data Files.
