Apex Legends has seven ranked tiers: Rookie, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, and Master. Each tier has four divisions, from IV up to I. Apex Predator is not an eighth tier: it is the designation for the top 750 players per platform in Master, according to EA’s Ranked guide.
What are all the Apex Legends ranks?
The current ladder runs from Rookie through Master. Progress within each tier goes from division IV to I, with I the highest division before promotion to the next tier.

Players at the top of Master can earn the Apex Predator designation. EA defines Apex Predators as the top 750 players per platform in Master; the cutoff is competitive and can change as players’ RP totals shift.
How does Ranked progression work?
Ranked progression is based on Ranked Points (RP). You earn RP through match placement, kills and assists, and skill-related bonuses. Higher placement increases the value of kills, while placement itself also awards more points. Healing and reviving teammates do not earn RP. Each match also has an entry cost, deducted from your RP total; a poor result can therefore leave you with fewer points than you began with.

EA’s current general guide lists these per-match entry costs. Because scoring can change between seasons, check the live Ranked guide and current patch notes for the season you are playing.

How much RP is needed to advance?
Promotion thresholds vary by tier and division. EA’s guide says Rookie promotion steps require 250 RP; Bronze and Silver steps are generally 500 RP, while higher tiers require more, reaching 1,000 RP for some Platinum and Diamond transitions. Consult EA’s current table for the exact threshold you need rather than relying on a single number for every division.

How do you become an Apex Predator?
First climb through the divisions and tiers until you reach Master. Then continue earning RP and hold a place among the top 750 players on your platform. Reaching Master alone does not make a player a Predator; the designation is reserved for that platform’s top 750 Master players.
Since RP depends on both placement and combat results, a consistent approach that survives into higher placements while contributing kills or assists can earn more than chasing eliminations without regard to placement. The entry cost also rises with rank, so results that might produce a net gain in lower tiers can become a loss higher up.

Who can enter Ranked, and how is matchmaking set?
New players below Level 20 may need to complete the Road to Ranked challenge sets before entering Ranked, unless their account already had access before those challenges were introduced. Challenge progress is separate on each platform. EA says matchmaking is based on current RP. For returning Ranked players, starting tier uses current hidden Ranked skill; for first-time Ranked players, hidden skill from Unranked Trios is used.
When do ranks reset, and what rewards count?
EA describes two rank resets per season: one at the start of the season and another at the split reset. Season rewards are based on the highest tier reached across the season’s splits. An animated badge has an additional condition: you must match your first-split rank in the second split.

Why should you check the current season’s rules?
The tier ladder and Predator designation are the core structure, but RP scoring is season-sensitive. EA’s Amped patch notes show that placement-based RP values, kill-point values, and Challenger Bonus percentages can be adjusted. Check the current season’s official guide and patch notes for live entry costs, promotion thresholds, reset timing, and rewards; do not assume a table from an older season still applies.
