How armor acquisition works
Most armor is made at a Keeper’s Shrine once its recipe has been unlocked. Other individual pieces are obtained as finds, including from chests. As a result, there is no single route that applies to every piece: check shrine crafting when a recipe becomes available, and explore for loot rather than assuming every item must be crafted. How armor set bonuses work
Wearing multiple pieces from one set activates its listed set effects. Thresholds vary: the game can display bonuses for two, three, or four equipped pieces, and some sets have more than one threshold. Read each set’s effect text rather than assuming every set uses the same two-piece and four-piece structure. RPG Site’s armor guide describes the displayed thresholds, while Game8 also notes that effects depend on the number of matching pieces worn.
Mixing pieces lets you combine partial bonuses from different sets when your equipped count reaches each set’s threshold. Which combination suits you depends on your build and the encounter; the available sources do not establish a universal best set or ranking. Compare the listed bonus with each piece’s defense, resistances, and individual effects in your own inventory.

Verified special armor sets
Folk Opera set — Digital Deluxe edition
The Steam Digital Deluxe edition lists four in-game items: the Folk Opera Mask, Folk Opera Almsgiving Armor, Folk Opera Leather Bracers, and Folk Opera Buskins. Steam says they can be claimed from Trailblazer’s Gift at a Keeper’s Shrine during the early stages of the game. These are digital edition items, not physical armor products. The Steam listing does not establish their set-bonus thresholds or effects. Steam’s edition listing identifies the included equipment and claim route.
Armor Set of Opulence — version 1.0.13.16669 update
Game Science’s December 2024 patch announcement for version 1.0.13.16669 added the Armor Set of Opulence. After installing the update, claim all four pieces through Trailblazer’s Gift at any Keeper’s Shrine. The announcement describes the set as a celebration of the upcoming Chinese New Year; it does not provide the pieces’ names or set-bonus effects in the information available here. Game Science’s official Steam patch announcement identifies the set and its claim method.

How to upgrade armor
- Complete the questline involving Xu Dog and Chen Loong to unlock the relevant progression.
- Go to Zodiac Village and speak with Yin Tiger to access armor upgrades.
- Select the armor piece you want to improve and review the in-game requirements before confirming the upgrade.
Game8’s upgrade overview describes this unlock route. Specific material costs, upgrade tiers, and exceptions for individual items are not established here; use the requirements shown in your current game.
