What the 33-weapon figure means
Call of Duty reported 33 armaments at Black Ops 6’s launch in 2024. The launch roster comprised 25 primary weapons, six secondary weapons, and two melee weapons. Primary categories included assault rifles, submachine guns, shotguns, light machine guns, marksman rifles, and sniper rifles; secondary weapons included pistols and launchers. Call of Duty’s launch overview is a launch snapshot, not proof of the current total.

A complete current list would need to account for post-launch additions as well as launch weapons. The verified examples below illustrate how unlock routes changed, but they are not a complete roster.
How base weapon unlocks work
Launch weapons: player progression
At launch, Call of Duty said weapon unlock criteria were tied to Player Progression. One weapon from each weapon type or class was immediately available in default loadouts; other base weapons unlocked as players advanced. The official progression examples include the KSV at player level 7 and the AK-74 at player level 10. Those level requirements are launch-era details, not a guide to every weapon’s current route.

Later additions: seasonal routes
Post-launch guns did not necessarily follow the original level ladder. For example, the Ladra was offered as a free-track mastery reward in Season 03 Reloaded. The event was announced for May 1–15, 2025, so this is a historical, time-limited route—not a guarantee that the reward is currently claimable. Call of Duty’s Season 03 Reloaded announcement describes that event.
Season 06 weapon information placed the Dresden 9mm and Merrick 556 on Battle Pass pages and also identified the X52 Resonator and Chainsaw as new weapons. These are historical seasonal details; the announcement does not establish their present availability or every weapon’s unlock route. See Call of Duty’s Season 06 announcement.

Base guns and attachments are separate unlocks
Unlocking a weapon gives access to the base gun. Weapon XP is earned by using that weapon in combat and unlocks attachments for it; it does not unlock the base weapon itself. Once available, Gunsmith lets you customize the weapon with attachments that alter its characteristics. Call of Duty explains this distinction in its Black Ops 6 Multiplayer guide.
How to check whether a weapon is available now
- Open the in-game weapon selection or Armory and locate the gun you want. Check the displayed unlock requirement rather than relying on an old level or event guide.
- If the game lists a player level, progress through Player Progression and check again when you reach the stated level.
- If it names an event or Battle Pass, confirm that the relevant content is currently active and that the weapon reward is still obtainable. A past event announcement only establishes the historical route.
- After unlocking the base gun, equip it and earn Weapon XP in combat to progress its attachment unlocks.
Routes can vary by weapon, season, and mode. A time-limited event reward should not be treated as a permanent unlock unless current in-game or official information confirms another route, such as an active challenge or Armory option.

Why this is not a complete current weapon table
The available official information establishes the launch total and several later examples, but it does not verify every launch weapon and subsequent addition through October 2026. It also does not provide a current, weapon-by-weapon list of modes, base unlocks, or alternate Armory and challenge routes. Listing all guns or presenting old routes as current would risk misleading players; check the live Armory and current official update notes for the complete, up-to-date roster.
