Launch-roster snapshot: Activision’s launch guide lists 30 armaments for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7: 23 primary weapons, five secondaries and two melee weapons. This is the launch lineup, not a complete current roster or a ranking of what is strongest. The guide’s Multiplayer equipment includes Tacticals, Lethals and Field Upgrades; Scorestreaks are a separate category. Activision’s launch guide says Warzone integration was planned for Season 01, so the launch list should not be read as a list of items available in Warzone on day one.
How many weapons were in Black Ops 7 at launch?
The launch roster comprised 30 armaments: 23 primary weapons, five secondary weapons and two melee weapons. The primary weapons were divided among six assault rifles, six submachine guns, three shotguns, two light machine guns, three marksman rifles and three sniper rifles. Secondaries included three pistols and two launchers.
Activision’s November 2025 launch guide describes the weapons as available across the game. The official reveal specified that Multiplayer weapons were also available in Co-Op Campaign and Zombies. The reveal called 16 of the 30 weapons first-time appearances in a Call of Duty game; that is Activision’s franchise-history description, not a claim that those designs were new to real-world firearms. Activision’s reveal places the game in 2035 and describes its arsenal as near-future weaponry.

The launch guide organizes Multiplayer equipment into Tacticals, Lethals, Field Upgrades and Scorestreaks. Scorestreaks have their own section and unlock criteria, so they are not included in the equipment-item counts below.

Field Upgrades
Field Upgrades are rechargeable devices for defensive and offensive support. The available entries in the launch guide include Assault Pack, Drone Pod, Trophy System, Active Camo, Echo Unit, Squad Link, Scrambler, Fear Trap and Black Hat. The guide states there are 10 Field Upgrades, but its available item entries do not identify the tenth; this list therefore names the nine entries shown rather than guessing at the missing item.

Overclocks and Scorestreaks
Activision says equipment, Field Upgrades and Scorestreaks can gain Overclock upgrades through use, developing additional functionality as players progress them. The launch guide also lists Scorestreak unlock criteria, but Scorestreaks are not part of the Tactical, Lethal or Field Upgrade counts.
How weapon classes differ
Class labels give a broad organizing structure, not a verdict on which weapon is best. Activision’s guide describes weapon evaluation through four functional areas:

- In Treyarch’s legendary Round-Based Zombies mode, the nightmare begins where reality ends. Trapped in the heart of the Dark Aether, the crew is thrust into a vast, ever-shifting hellscape. This isn’t just survival. It’s a descent into madness.
- Firepower: fire rate, damage, range and whether firing pings the player on the minimap.
- Accuracy: hip-fire spread, recoil, bullet velocity and flinch resistance.
- Mobility: movement speeds.
- Handling: reload, aim-down-sights (ADS), sprint-to-fire and weapon-swap speed.
Those characteristics can help compare weapons for a particular play style, but the launch roster alone does not establish a strongest weapon. Balance and seasonal additions can also change after launch.

The launch guide says some weapons and equipment unlock at specific Player Levels, while items omitted from its unlock-criteria tables are available immediately. Its equipment tables and individual item entries do not consistently agree on every level, so check the current item-specific entry in the official launch guide rather than relying on a conflicting level copied elsewhere.

Activision’s launch guide said Warzone content integration was planned for Season 01; that timing distinguishes the launch game’s roster from Warzone availability at launch.
