The first challenges are available in Chapter 6 and the later set opens in Chapter 12. You need to win at least three puzzles for the story objective; PowerPyx counts 22 puzzles in the complete set. This guide gives the documented move sequences and explains where the available late-game solutions stop short of a full walkthrough.
How to read these Card Carnival solutions
Each puzzle gives you a fixed hand and board. Win by placing cards in the specified order so their effects, summons, destruction, or replacement interactions resolve as intended. Unless noted otherwise, “top,” “middle,” and “bottom” mean board rows, while “first,” “second,” and “third field” mean positions from left to right. This row-and-field notation follows the PowerPyx walkthrough; it is not the letter-number notation used in GameFAQs.
For later puzzles written in GameFAQs coordinates, keep the coordinate exactly as shown. When a step says to replace a card, play the new card onto that occupied space and allow the replacement effect to resolve.
Chapter 6: Cards Del Armor
Round 1
- Play Fleetwing in the bottom row.
- Play Zu in the top row.
- Play Quetzalcoatl in the middle row.
Round 2
- Play Fat Chocobo in the bottom-left field.
- Play Posh Chocobo in the bottom-right field.
- Play Chocobo & Moogle in the bottom-middle field.
Round 3
- Play Fleetwing in the middle row, second field.
- Play Moogle Trio in the middle row, first field.
- Play Grasslands Wolf in the bottom row, first field.
- Play Moogle Mage in the bottom row, second field.
- Play Moogle Bard in the top row, first field.
Chapter 6: advanced puzzles and skill drill
Spears and Needles
- Play Cactuar in the top row, second field.
- Play Spearhawk in the middle row, second field.
- Play another Spearhawk in the middle row, third field.
- Play Quetzalcoatl in the bottom row, third field.
Sea Devil by Night
- Play Security Officer in the bottom row, second field.
- Play Sea Devil in the middle row, second field.
- Play another Sea Devil in the bottom row, first field.
- As the summoned or otherwise available cards resolve, play Mandragora, Mandragora Minion, Mandragora, then Mandragora Minion in the bottom row, second field. Check the in-game card-resolution display as you follow this repeated position.
A Kingly Clash
- Play Zu in the top row, second field.
- Play another Zu in the bottom row, second field.
- Play Tonberry King in the middle row, third field.
- Play Deathwheel in the top row, first field.
- Play another Deathwheel in the bottom row, first field.
- Play Mindflayer in the middle row, first field.
Power-Down Practice
- Play Archdragon in the bottom row, second field.
- Play another Archdragon in the bottom row, third field.
- Play Quetzalcoatl in the middle row, second field.
Power-Down Practice is a training puzzle; the walkthrough overview lists no card reward for it.

Chapter 12: later challenges
The later set includes One Shot, One Kill; Curse of the Gi; character collection challenges; and the skill drills Chain Reactions, Major Power Outage, Back to Replace-ics, and Replacement Test. The walkthroughs reviewed here do not expose full move lists for every late puzzle, so the sequences below are limited to the puzzles for which moves are documented. PowerPyx describes 22 puzzles in the overall set.

This sequence uses GameFAQs letter-number coordinates; do not interpret these as row-and-field positions.

Collector’s Card: Barret
- Play Toxirat at B1.
- Play Sandhog Pie at B3.
- Play Bomb at B2.
- Replace Bomb with Insectoid Chimera at B2.
- Play Barret at C2.
What the full puzzle set includes
PowerPyx and GameFAQs group the Costa del Sol puzzles into straightforward challenges, advanced puzzles, character-card collection challenges, and skill drills. Character collection puzzles use special character cards; skill drills teach mechanics, and the walkthrough overview says they do not award a card. Most completed challenges do reward a Queen’s Blood card.
