Minor character spoilers: this guide names all nine Experts. Star Wars Outlaws has nine Experts and 54 listed abilities, according to GamesRadar+’s 2024 guide. Each Expert’s quest chain unlocks the Expert and an initial ability; challenges unlock the rest, sometimes with story, item, or ability prerequisites. The guides consulted do not identify the game patch their lists reflect, so treat the roster below as a guide-verified list rather than a patch-specific audit.

Bram Shano — The Bartender
- Cantina Brawling: Enables chained melee attacks.
- Lockpicking: Opens doors and containers through the lockpicking minigame.
- Fast Talk: Briefly distracts a nearby alerted enemy.
- Keep Talking: Extends Fast Talk to nearby enemies; requires Fast Talk.
- Armored Undershirt: Increases Kay’s maximum health.
- I Know Someone: Reveals personal requests that can be fulfilled with merchants.
Selo Rovak — The Mechanic
- Speed Boost: Gives the speeder a short burst of speed.
- Speeder Jump: Lets the speeder jump.
- Treasure Hunter: Lets Nix cue and highlight nearby containers.
- Smoke Bomb: Creates a cloud that obscures enemies’ vision.
- Scoundrel’s Pouch: Adds capacity for one Bacta Vial and one grenade.

Aila Bren — The Slicer
- Slicing Kit: Lets Kay hack compatible devices without terminals and use Joker modifications.
- Sneak Shot: Deals extra damage when shooting an enemy unaware of Kay.
- Concussive Smoke: Adds a concussion effect that staggers enemies in smoke; requires Smoke Bomb.
- Sneaky Trap: Lets Nix trap alarm panels.
- Lightfooted: Reduces Kay’s movement noise and enemy detection distance.
- Slice Kit Upgrade: Adds two energy to the Slicing Kit.
Temmin Wexley — The Scavenger
- Hydrorepulsor: Lets the speeder cross water.

Rooster Trace — The Mercenary
- Can I Try That?: Allows Kay to pick up and use high-tier Imperial weapons.
- I Like This Thing: Adds 25% ammunition to picked-up weapons.
- Feelers Out: Doubles the range of Nix’s enemy-sensing ability.
- Sharpshooting: Significantly increases Adrenaline gained from headshots.
- Loop Maneuver: Turns the Trailblazer 180 degrees.
- Top Roll Maneuver: Repositions the Trailblazer behind pursuers; requires Loop Maneuver.
Sheriff Quint — The Gunslinger
- Adrenaline Rush Mastery: Adds two targets and allows objects such as explosive barrels to be marked.
- Powered Recharge: Grants some Adrenaline after a perfect reload cooling action.
- Speeder Shot: Improves Adrenaline Rush targeting while riding the speeder.
- Resilient: Increases maximum health.
- The More: Adds one target to Adrenaline Rush.
- The Better: Allows tougher enemies to be marked twice for a kill rather than a stagger; requires The More.
Teeka — The Hotfixer
- Laser Turret: Repairs or unlocks the Trailblazer turret slot and turret options.
- Improved Grenade: Increases grenade radius and damage by 50%.
- Enhanced Bacta Injector: Adds one health pip to Bacta Vial recovery.
- Magnetic Dice: Lets Kay cheat the dice outcome in Sabacc.
- Cheeky Explosion: Lets Nix trigger grenades carried by enemies.
- M’Gasha: Improves merchant prices and selling returns by 10%.
Lando Calrissian — The High Roller
- Plan A: Allows a Double Draw at Kessel Sabacc.
- Plan B: Provides components to craft the Heavy Blaster Module.
- Roll Maneuver: Adds an evasive roll to the Trailblazer.
- Shoot First: Makes the opening blaster shot deal extra damage.
- Ask Later: Hip-fire shots or near-misses briefly after drawing the blaster grant Adrenaline.
- Just Improvise: Grants Adrenaline following Fast-Talk or Arrest sequences.
How to unlock Experts and their abilities
- Progress through story missions and investigate Expert Intel. These steps reveal Experts and their quest chains; story progress can affect when an Expert becomes available.
- Complete an Expert’s quest chain. This adds the Expert to the Abilities menu and unlocks an initial ability.
- Complete the listed challenges for additional abilities. Some challenges require a particular item, access to a location, or a prerequisite ability. Check each ability’s requirement in the menu.
- Repeat actions when a challenge does not count retroactively. GameSpot notes that some objective tallies may only begin after a perk becomes available, so an action performed earlier may need to be done again.
Which Expert should you prioritize?
There is no official ranking in the cited guides. Choose based on what you want Kay to do more effectively; access to Experts and challenge completion can constrain the order.
- Stealth and slicing: Aila’s slicing, noise reduction, and sabotage abilities are a natural fit; Bram’s Fast Talk abilities support distraction.
- Combat and survival: Quint adds Adrenaline Rush options, MT-7 improves survivability and Nix attacks, and Rooster boosts weapon use and Adrenaline from headshots.
- Exploration and traversal: Selo improves speeder movement and container discovery; Temmin adds water crossing and scavenging benefits.
- Ship capabilities: Teeka’s Laser Turret and Rooster’s Trailblazer maneuvers cover different ship needs.
- Sabacc and merchant economy: Lando offers Sabacc and Adrenaline-related abilities, while Teeka’s M’Gasha improves merchant prices and selling returns.

The ability names and effects are drawn from GameSpot’s Expert guide and GamesRadar+’s Experts and abilities guide. GamesRadar+ reports the total of nine Experts and 54 abilities in its 2024 guide. Ubisoft describes the Expert system as a way for Kay to learn skills from elusive experts in its official explanation of the system. Ubisoft’s Star Wars Outlaws page identifies the game as an open-world Star Wars adventure starring Kay Vess and Nix. The guides do not state which patch or build their ability lists reflect.
