To find a fish in Fisch, open its entry in the in-game Bestiary and check its location, bait and each listed preference for weather, time and season. Then fish in the specified area or sublocation; if the entry is tied to an abundance, use a Fish Radar or an event indicator to locate it. The Bestiary is the current in-game reference, while static fish tables can become outdated when the game changes.
How to find a specific fish
- Open the Bestiary. Find the fish’s entry and note its listed area. The Bestiary is the in-game logbook for fish and items caught during your adventure.
- Check the precise location. Some entries name a sublocation within a larger area, such as a room or depth. Go to that spot rather than treating the broad area name as the whole instruction.
- Match the catch conditions. Read the bait and every preference shown for weather, time and season. A listed preference for one condition does not mean the others are unrestricted.
- Check for an abundance. If the fish is associated with one, locate the abundance zone before casting. A Fish Radar highlights abundance areas; some event areas are marked without one.
- Equip bait before casting. Select it in the Equipment Bag, then cast in the target location when the listed conditions are met.

Examples of location, bait and preference entries
These examples come from Beebom’s location guide, updated October 15, 2025. They illustrate how to read a fish table, but they are not a guarantee of current in-game requirements. “Not stated” means the cited entry did not specify that condition; it does not mean the condition is unrestricted.

Using bait and abundance areas effectively
Choose bait for the fish, not a universal bonus
Follow the target fish’s listed bait preference. Baits can have different effects and trade-offs: the Fisch Wiki Fishing page, updated September 25, 2026, says Weird Algae boosts Universal Luck while slowing Lure Speed, while Seaweed gives a slight boost to fishing skills. Neither description makes one bait the best choice for every catch.
Find the right abundance
Abundances are areas where particular fish or items are more likely to be caught, and some fish or items may only be caught there. The Fishing page distinguishes normal abundances, randomly appearing fish-abundance events and event abundances such as Shark Hunt and Megalodon Hunt. A Fish Radar highlights abundance areas, although some event areas are marked even without the Radar.

Do not use reel difficulty to guess rarity
A penalty to reeling progress speed does not necessarily mean the catch is high-rarity. The Fishing page gives Cursed Eel as an example, so use the Bestiary’s rarity entry rather than the feel of the catch as your guide.
Bestiary completion details
The Bestiary page says Limited, Secret and Divine Secret fish are not required for completion, with Phantom Megalodon listed as an exception. A fish received in a trade does not count toward completion; the player must catch it themselves. The page also reports that 70% completion unlocks the Destiny Rod purchase from Caleia at The Arch for 190,000 C$, and that 100% completion awards the Aurora Bobber. These are page-reported progression details and may change with game updates.

Keep older fish tables in context
Fish locations, rarity labels, bait and condition requirements can change as Fisch is updated. Use older tables as a starting point, then compare the specific fish’s entry with the live Bestiary before making a long trip or spending bait. The community-maintained Fisch Wiki Bestiary and Fishing pages cited here were updated September 25, 2026; Beebom’s examples above are from October 15, 2025.
