The Pokémon Company’s July 22, 2025 announcement describes Furfrou’s specialty-shop trims and explains that practicing cuts lets the shop’s Scyther learn more difficult styles. In the game’s mission progression, the later Substitute challenges build on that idea: demonstrate moves for Scyther, then gain access to additional trim groups.
