To earn Mastery Badges in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, use the weapon, equipment, Field Upgrade, or Scorestreak you want to master in Multiplayer or Zombies, then complete the item-specific challenge shown in the in-game Challenges tile. There is no single action or threshold for every badge: the game may count kills, detections, destructions, healing, restocking, or another gear-specific action.
How to unlock and track Mastery Badges
- Play Multiplayer or Zombies with the gear whose badge you want to earn.
- Open the in-game Challenges tile and find that item’s Mastery Badge challenge. Activision’s Black Ops 6 progression guide points players to Challenges for current challenge details.
- Complete the action named in the challenge and check the displayed progress. The requirement depends on the item and mode, so follow the live challenge rather than assuming every badge requires kills.
- Continue through the individual badge tiers. For category-level Diamond progress, check the relevant category display and its current requirement.
Mastery Badges are challenges that award Player XP, not a separate purchase or paid upgrade, according to Activision’s progression guide.

What gear and modes have badges?
Activision’s Black Ops 6 launch overview describes Mastery Badges for every weapon, equipment item, Field Upgrade, and Scorestreak in both Multiplayer and Zombies. Its Zombies equipment overview also notes that equipment items have their own specific badge challenges.
Within those broad categories, a community-maintained badge table organizes entries by weapon class—including assault rifles, SMGs, LMGs, sniper rifles, marksman rifles, shotguns, pistols, launchers or special weapons, and melee—as well as Scorestreaks, lethal equipment, tactical equipment, and Field Upgrades. Treat that roster as a snapshot rather than a definitive current inventory; newly added or changed items may not be reflected.

Badge tiers and Diamond progress
The community table groups individual progress into Badge I, Badge II, and Mastery, followed by a Diamond badge associated with completing Mastery badges within the relevant category. The table does not establish a reliable current category roster or Diamond threshold, so use the in-game category display for the requirement that applies to your game.
Older guides may show tier requirements as separate steps. The community table records a Season One change to displayed requirements as cumulative totals. That distinction matters when reading a sequence: a later displayed total may include progress from earlier tiers rather than describing only the extra actions needed after the previous badge.

Why requirements differ by item
Each challenge tracks the action suited to the gear. Community-table examples illustrate the variety: weapon entries can count kills; Scout Pulse examples count opponents detected and then killed; SAM Turret examples count destructions; and equipment challenges can depend on an effect such as healing or restocking. These examples explain the kinds of actions involved, but are not a complete or confirmed current threshold list.
For context, the community table’s assault-rifle examples list 100 kills, 150 kills, and 250 kills across successive individual tiers. Those figures are secondary-source examples, not verified current requirements for every rifle or mode. The most dependable way to identify what counts—and how many actions remain—is to read the specific challenge in your own Challenges screen.

Mastery Badges are not Mastery Camos
Mastery Badges track challenges for gear. Mastery Camos and Mastery Calling Cards are separate progression systems documented separately by Activision in its progression guide and launch overview. Completing one system should not be assumed to complete another.
