Where to find the items
Most items: abandoned explorer luggage
The guide says the general Mesa item set can appear in abandoned explorer luggage across maps, rather than at fixed Mesa-only locations. It reports no specific spawn points for Balloons, the Scout Cannon, Parasol or Sunscreen.
Reported exceptions
- Aloe Vera: look for it growing on the ground.
- Dynamite: the guide reports it exclusively in luggage in Mesa.
- Ancient Idol: the guide points to the 24K Gold Badge as its way to obtain it.
How to choose what to carry
- For movement and stamina: Balloons reduce carried weight and stamina drain; the Scout Cannon offers a long-distance launch, but requires a flat surface and lighting.
- For heat: Sunscreen is described as protection before extended sun exposure, while the Parasol offers heat protection and a brief glide.
- For burns: Aloe Vera is the listed treatment for burns from extreme sun.
- For elemental hazards: the Ancient Idol offers broad resistance with a substantial stamina cost.
- For blocked paths: Dynamite is the listed explosive option.
The guide gives no comparative effectiveness measurements, so these roles are a practical way to sort the items—not a ranking of which is strongest.

TheGameSlayer’s guide was published August 13, 2025.
