The Forge’s ore roster is divided by mining region and node type. Stonewake’s Cross supplies the starter metals and novelty ores, Forgotten Kingdom adds Basalt and Volcano materials, Goblin Cave contains crystal nodes, and World 3 adds ice-area, cave and boss materials. Your pickaxe must meet the requirement for the specific node—not merely the region. This index reflects January 2026 guide coverage; The Forge is live-service, so verify names, rates, prices and gates after each update.
How ore collection works
Each ore is tied to particular rock or crystal nodes in particular locations. A node’s pickaxe gate is separate from the ore’s rarity, sale price, crafting multiplier and trait. Breaking a node produces a roll from that node’s drop table; a listed fraction is the chance of that specific ore from the node, not a guarantee on every swing.
You can sell ore for Gold or consume it in forging. The right target therefore depends on whether you need currency, a high-value crafted item, or a particular weapon or armor effect.
Complete ore index by region
Stonewake’s Cross (World 1)
| Nodes | Ores | Progression notes |
|---|---|---|
| Pebbles, Rocks and Boulders | Stone; Sand Stone; Copper; Iron; Tin; Silver; Gold; Mushroomite; Platinum; Bananite; Cardboardite; Aite; Poopite | Mine Pebbles first, then Rocks, then Boulders as your pickaxe improves. Boulders require a Gold Pickaxe or better in the detailed January 2026 guide. |
Stonewake’s Cross is the practical opening route. Keep early metals for upgrades or forging before selling the entire haul; once you have a stronger pickaxe, return for any starter ore your recipe still requires.
#1 Best Overall
Forgotten Kingdom (World 2)
| Nodes or source | Ores | What to watch |
|---|---|---|
| Basalt Rock, Basalt Core and Basalt Vein | Cobalt; Titanium; Lapis Lazuli; Quartz; Amethyst; Topaz; Diamond; Sapphire; Cuprite; Obsidian; Emerald; Ruby; Rivalite; Uranium; Mythril; Eye Ore; Fireite; Magmaite; Lightite; Demonite; Darkryte | These three Basalt node tiers have different minimum pickaxes. A pickaxe that breaks Basalt Rock is not automatically sufficient for a Basalt Vein. |
| Volcanic Rock in the Volcano | Volcanic Rock | The Volcano is a separate route from the Basalt fields; use the node’s own requirement rather than assuming the Basalt gate applies. |
Forgotten Kingdom is the main mid-game mining circuit. Route through the Basalt tiers you can actually break, then move into the Volcano when your equipment meets its requirement.
Goblin Cave (World 2 unlock)
| Crystal sources | Ores or crystal drops | Unlock |
|---|---|---|
| Colored crystal nodes | Orange Crystal; Magenta Crystal; Green Crystal; Crimson Crystal; Blue Crystal; Rainbow Crystal; Arcane Crystal | Complete the five-part Goblin King quest chain and pay 85,000 Gold in total, according to Destructoid’s 2026 guide. |
Published guides do not use identical labels for the cave’s nodes: one list uses the color names above, while Destructoid describes Crimson, Cyan, Earth and Light Crystal nodes. Treat the names shown by your current game and its live drop table as authoritative rather than assuming the labels are interchangeable.
Rank #2
Frostpire Expanse, Spider Cave and The Peak (World 3)
| Area or source | Materials | Collection method |
|---|---|---|
| Frostpire Expanse, Spider Cave and The Peak mining nodes | Tungsten; Sulfur; Pumice; Aetherit; Scheelite; Larimar; Neurotite; Frost Fossil; Tide Carve; Velchire; Sanctis; Snowite; Iceite | Mine the World 3 icy node progression: Icy Pebbles, Icy Rocks, Icy Boulders and Ice Crystals. |
| Spider Prismarine boss encounter | Prismatic Heart | Boss drop; it is not obtained by ordinary mining. |
Mosasaursit is listed separately as a special boss/guide item, not as a normal node ore. Raven Cave and other World 3 boss sections contain additional version-sensitive entries; check the current in-game encounter and the latest updated guide before treating a special drop as a mineable ore.
Getting ores efficiently
- Build the Stonewake route. Mine Pebbles, then Rocks, and add Boulders only after reaching the Gold Pickaxe gate.
- Advance through Forgotten Kingdom by node tier. Check the minimum pickaxe for Basalt Rock, Basalt Core and Basalt Vein individually, then apply the Volcano’s Volcanic Rock requirement separately.
- Open Goblin Cave deliberately. Finish all five Goblin King quests and budget the 85,000-Gold total unlock cost before planning a crystal-farming session.
- Use World 3’s correct source. Mine Icy Pebbles, Icy Rocks, Icy Boulders and Ice Crystals in Frostpire, Spider Cave and The Peak; switch to the relevant boss encounter for Prismatic Heart or other boss-only items.
- Improve the roll, not just the swing. Equip Mining Shard runes where available and read the node’s published drop table. The table’s fractions describe the chance for a particular ore from that node.
How to compare an ore before selling or forging
Use five separate fields when evaluating a drop:
- Source: the region and exact rock or crystal node that can produce it.
- Drop chance: the node-specific probability for that ore. It is not a per-swing guarantee.
- Multiplier: the ore’s contribution to crafted-item value or strength.
- Sale price: the Gold received when the ore is sold.
- Trait: a special weapon or armor effect. A trait activates only when the selected ore makes up at least 10% of the forging recipe.
Rarity alone cannot answer “Which ore is best?” A high-rarity ore may have a lower sale value than another drop, a weaker multiplier for your recipe, or a trait that does nothing for your build.

Trait examples and build decisions
| Ore | Reported trait focus | Best reason to reserve it |
|---|---|---|
| Rivalite | Weapon critical-chance effect | Critical-focused weapon builds. |
| Uranium | Armor area damage | Armor setups that want damage around the wearer. |
| Mythril | Armor defense | Durability and mitigation. |
| Eye Ore | Damage trade-off | Builds that accept its stated downside for offensive output. |
| Fireite | Weapon burn | Damage-over-time or fire-themed weapons. |
| Darkryte | Dodge effect | Mobility and evasion-focused armor or weapons. |
| Iceite | Freeze effect | Late-game crowd-control or status-effect builds. |
These are examples of different design goals, not a universal ranking. Keep enough of a trait ore to reach the 10% recipe threshold, then compare the remaining recipe’s multiplier and material costs.
Drop-rate notes and unusually rare entries
The most useful rule is to read the complete drop table for the exact node you are farming. A community-wiki entry crawled in September 2026 reports a 1/100,000 chance for Arcane Crystal and a 1/1,000,000 chance for Galaxite. Those figures are database values tied to that version and source; they should not be generalized to every crystal or treated as permanent rates. Galaxite is not assigned an area in the regional index above, so confirm its current source in the live game before making a route around it.
Because the game changes, do not copy a drop fraction, price or pickaxe gate from an older screenshot into a current farming plan without checking the node’s present table.

When the goal is Gold
- Choose a node you can clear quickly and consistently with your current pickaxe.
- Compare the live sale price and drop distribution, not rarity by itself.
- Sell surplus materials only after reserving the ores required by your next recipe and any 10%-trait threshold.
When the goal is forging
- Start with the trait you want—critical chance, defense, burn, dodge, freeze or another effect.
- Farm the exact node that drops that ore and keep at least the amount needed for the recipe percentage.
- Use the ore’s multiplier and the rest of the recipe to judge the finished item; a costly rare drop is not automatically the strongest result.
When the goal is progression
- Prioritize the next pickaxe gate and the materials needed to reach it.
- Do not spend all Gold on the Goblin Cave unlock until the five Goblin King quests are complete and the 85,000-Gold total is available.
- For World 3, separate mineable materials from boss drops so a failed mining loop does not substitute for the required encounter.
Version and naming checklist
The January 2026 guides differ in scope: a community wiki is described as having 45 entries, while the updated Destructoid guide includes additional World 3 and boss sections. Before publishing or following a route, recheck:

- ore names and whether a listed item is an ore, crystal, boss drop or guide-only special item;
- the exact node associated with each ore;
- minimum pickaxe requirements for every node tier;
- drop chances, multipliers, sale prices and traits;
- new Raven Cave, boss and World 3 additions after updates.
This separation prevents the most common mistakes: mining the wrong node, selling a trait material needed for forging, or treating a one-version database rate as a permanent guarantee.
