This guide maps the quest chains listed for Roblox’s Abyss in Shida Aruya’s TechWiser guide, updated March 19, 2026. It covers where to look for each quest giver, the kinds of objectives each chain asks you to complete, and notable rewards or unlocks. Treat it as a dated guide snapshot, not a verified live-game roster: updates can change quests, and some entries were unavailable or incomplete in that guide.
For an efficient start, prioritize Kraken, Scientist, and Diver in Forgotten Deep. The Scientist’s quest unlocks fast travel; Diver’s chain sends you on deliveries. Later, tackle Marcus after you have practical Ancient Sands gear, then work through Spirit Roots and the region-unlock chains as you reach them.
How to use this quest guide
Quest chains in Abyss vary substantially: some ask for a level, some for particular fish or mutations, and others for deliveries, geodes, bones, or chests. The entries below summarize the objectives and rewards identified in the March 19, 2026 TechWiser guide; they do not reproduce every individual step or reward amount where the guide’s step tables are not available here.
When a task names a fish, mutation, or collectible, follow the quest giver’s wording and turn in the requested item or quantity. Do not assume that a similar fish or a different mutation will count. The roster and event availability may have changed since the guide’s update.

Forgotten Deep and nearby routes
Kraken — Forgotten Deep Dome
Kraken has six beginner quests. The chain starts with a level requirement, then asks for specified quantities of fish with named mutations. Rewards include money, Star Shards, oxygen pods, and potions. TechWiser reports more than $4,400 and 70 Star Shards across the six quests as of its March 19, 2026 update; those are guide-reported totals, not independently verified live-game figures.
Mr. Black — Forgotten Deep Dome
Mr. Black gives five quests. The guide places him under a tree with purple flowers and lists separate objectives and rewards for the chain, but the available details here do not specify those steps. Check the quest text in-game rather than guessing what to collect.
Scientist — Forgotten Deep Dome
Follow the object-finding tasks to collect four items: toilet paper, a toilet, a blue door, and power relays. The guide’s directions are to find the toilet near Richard’s Bestiary; locate a blue door behind the Tubes shop; pick up toilet paper under the developer-NPC table; and search crates by a blue container near Billy for the power relays. Return the items to the Scientist. Completing this chain unlocks the teleporter reward, making it a useful early priority.
Virelia — Forgotten Deep Dome
Virelia’s three quests become available after you crack geodes. The chain asks for different geode types. Listed rewards include money, Star Shards, oxygen pods, and potions.
Crab — Tubes shop
Crab has one quest: open seven Fish Ruins.
Diver — ocean and submarine route
Diver’s five quests are deliveries. Carry crates to Henry, Richard, Virelia and the Scientist, Marcus, and the Archaeologists. The guide lists money, Star Shards, oxygen pods, and a speed potion among the rewards.

Morveth — cave at 280 meters from Forgotten Deep
Morveth has four quests combining level thresholds with catches of fish that have specified mutations. Reach the required level and bring the requested mutated catches for each task.
Ancient Sands
Marcus
Marcus offers six quests involving desert fish, mutated catches, bones, geodes, and treasure chests. The listed rewards include cash, Star Shards, oxygen pods, and potions. The progression guide recommends starting this chain once your gear makes Ancient Sands workable; it does not establish a single optimal gear threshold.
Grumpy Hank
Grumpy Hank’s four quests follow Marcus as a practical next branch. Objectives include fish such as sharks and an Ancient Shark, mutated catches, Fish Bones, Cactus Geodes, and Tier-2 treasure chests. The final reward list includes an Ancient Key.

Suspicious Fisher
This is a one-task quest: catch three Bigmouthfish. The guide lists 40 Star Shards as the reward.
Spirit Roots
The progression guide treats Spirit Roots quest lines as late-game tracks. Their tasks commonly combine local fish with mutations, Rooted Geodes, or moss.

Isolde — Spirit Root Hollow
Isolde gives three quests focused on fish, spirit- or fairy-mutated catches, Rooted Geodes, and moss.
Lumi — Spirit Root Hollow
Lumi has one quest requiring several fish and mutation types, plus a Rooted Geode. Listed rewards include cash, Star Shards, a Speed Potion, and oxygen pods.

Victor — behind Isolde’s location
Victor has two quests involving fish, Rooted Geodes, moss, and a Tier-1 chest count. Look behind Isolde’s location to find him.
Golem — deeper cave
Golem’s single quest requests Eyefish, Sailfish, Sunfish, Spirit-Mutated Fish, and Rooted Geodes.

King Cat — hidden cave
Follow the path to the left of Lumi’s shop to reach King Cat’s hidden cave. The listed quest requires rare fish, mutations, geodes, and $100,000 cash.
Lost Captain
This late-game requirement asks you to reach level 35 and bring $10,000. The guide lists cash, Star Shards, oxygen pods, and potions among the return rewards.

Builder Monkey
Builder Monkey has three quests involving Discus, Trout, Tambaqui, mutated catches, and bananas. Completing the chain opens the bridge to King Monkey.
Arthur and the three Thief Monkeys
Recover Arthur’s backpack, tube, and harpoon by completing collection tasks involving local fish, banana mutations, and bananas. The guide does not give enough detail here to list each item’s exact step or turn-in separately.
King Monkey
King Monkey has seven increasingly demanding collection quests. They involve local fish, mutations, bananas, geodes, and later creature items. The guide says completion can open the adjacent reward door and names Wild Gun and Wild Tube among the rewards.

Spore Guardian — Gloomspore Valley
Enter the mountain and deliver Boxfish, Catfish, Stingray, and Spore-mutated fish to Spore Guardian. The guide says completing this chain also unlocks Gate of Elves.
George — Gate of Elves
George’s delivery quest asks for Boxfish, Catfish, Squid, and Largemouth Bass.
Zareth — hidden path behind a house
Find the hidden path behind a house, complete the obby, and submit three Angelic Runes. According to the guide, this lets you unlock a deeper gate with a new gun.
Event quests and entries with incomplete details
Big Boss and Post Bird — Valentine’s event quests
The March 19, 2026 guide labels both quests unavailable. Big Boss’s listed objectives use Cupid- and Lonely-mutated fish. Post Bird’s quests involve delivering love letters and have a 24-hour cooldown. Treat these as event-history details unless the quests are confirmed available in your current game.

The guide marks these entries TBA and provides no confirmed objectives or rewards. Whether they received quest lines after March 19, 2026 is not established here.
Monk
The listed task is to give Monk 100,000 cash. The guide does not provide a full location, objective sequence, or reward table, so those details should not be inferred.
Which quests should you do first?
- Start with Kraken. Its six beginner quests provide a clear early chain, with fish-and-mutation tasks and listed money, Star Shards, oxygen pods, and potions.
- Complete Scientist’s item search. Its teleporter reward reduces travel friction for later routes.
- Pick up Diver’s deliveries while traveling. The five crate handoffs connect several named NPCs and destinations, including Marcus and the Archaeologists.
- Move to Marcus when Ancient Sands is manageable. Grumpy Hank is a practical follow-on branch, but both chains include collection tasks that may require time to gather.
- Take on Spirit Roots and later-region chains as access allows. The progression guide classifies Spirit Roots as late-game and identifies Builder Monkey and Spore Guardian as unlock-oriented chains.
This is a practical progression recommendation from the guide, not a tested efficiency ranking. When choosing what to do next, weigh the travel route, whether you can reach and handle the destination, how demanding the required catches or collections are, and whether the reward opens fast travel or another area.
