To complete the Layover challenge in Chapter 5, land at both secret sites in the open Hell Carrier area: kill the Titan on the tower left of the first carrier, then defeat two Titans at the bottom of the well beneath the central carrier. Land at both sites before advancing to the mission’s final stage. The challenge rewards 50 gold.
Landing spot one: the tower to the left
- In the open city area, look to the left of the first Hell Carrier. A Titan stands on a tower; using lock-on can help you spot it.
- Kill the Titan. The landing zone becomes available and is marked with a bright green indicator in the world and on the map.
- Dismount at the marker and explore the island. It contains a gold chest and a Demonic Essence. Sources differ on whether the essence increases health or armor, so check its in-game description.
PowerPyx also describes a nearby secret reached by dropping beneath the area. PowerPyx’s Chapter 5 collectible guide covers the route.
Landing spot two: the well beneath the central carrier
- Find the large well directly below the central Hell Carrier ahead of your starting position.
- Descend past the broad intermediate platform to the bottom of the area.
- Kill the two Titans standing on pedestals. Once the landing zone unlocks, land and explore.
The site connects to a cultist circle and a secret route that leads to the Pulverizer’s Nightmare weapon skin, according to PowerPyx.
When to do both landings
Complete both stops while the Hell Carrier area is open, before progressing to the mission’s final stage. Bethesda explains that point-of-no-return markers warn when the Slayer will not be able to return without restarting the level. Use the AutoMap to check unexplored areas and secret markers; Bethesda’s exploration guide also explains how the Shield Saw’s Charge and Throw abilities interact with gates and objects outside combat.
