Spoiler warning: This guide names the endings and explains their unlock routes, but does not describe their scenes. PowerPyx’s June 13, 2024 guide counts six endings: four in Canon of Creation and two in Canon of Vengeance. To see all six, you must play both canons; the choice at the start determines which story path you begin.
How the two canons work
Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance has two distinct story paths. The official SEGA/ATLUS story page describes Canon of Creation as the original Shin Megami Tensei V story and Canon of Vengeance as a different story that diverges midway and leads to a different ending.
At the opening choice, take the girl’s hand to begin Canon of Vengeance; decline to begin Canon of Creation, according to PowerPyx’s ending guide. That opening choice selects a canon, not an ending within it. Once you start one canon, the other canon’s endings require a separate playthrough.
At a glance: all six endings
| Canon | Endings reported | How the ending is determined | Prerequisite burden |
|---|---|---|---|
| Creation | Four | Choose among the final options near the end; the special fourth outcome adds another choice after selecting the throne-destruction path. | Three standard outcomes have no special earlier alignment requirement according to PowerPyx. The special outcome requires specified sidequest progress and defeating Shiva. |
| Vengeance | Two | Alignment choices across the route influence which ending you receive; there is no single final ending menu described by PowerPyx. | PowerPyx recommends consistently choosing the top or bottom dialogue response for the respective outcomes. |
The count and detailed unlock conditions are from PowerPyx’s walkthrough, rather than an official ending list.

Canon of Creation: four endings
Three standard endings
PowerPyx places the final selection shortly before the last dungeon, after the Metatron fight. Earlier alignment choices do not determine which of the three standard Creation endings you select. The guide transcribes the options as:
- “I will uphold God’s order”
- “I will destroy the throne”
- “I will re-create the world and save Tokyo”
These choice strings are transcribed from the walkthrough; wording can vary by localization or game version, so use the in-game text as the authority when making the selection.

Special ending: “Create a world for humanity alone”
This is a fourth Creation outcome, reached by choosing “I will destroy the throne” and then selecting “Create a world for humanity alone.” PowerPyx says it also requires completing the listed quest chains and defeating Shiva through “A Universe in Peril.” Plan for this branch before the final choice; it is not simply another option available to every player at the end.
- Khonsu chain: “The Falcon’s Head,” “The Egyptian’s Fate” (spare Khonsu), “The Winged Sun,” and “The Succession of Ra.”
- Fionn mac Cumhaill chain: “A Goddess Stolen,” “The Root of the Problem,” “The One I Love,” “An Unusual Forecast,” and “Fionn’s Resolve.”
- Shiva: Complete “A Universe in Peril,” which involves defeating Shiva.
Canon of Vengeance: two endings
PowerPyx describes the Vengeance endings as dependent on alignment choices made throughout the route, rather than a final selection menu. Its straightforward recommended approach is to choose the top response consistently for the Law outcome or the bottom response consistently for the Chaos outcome. Treat this as the guide’s strategy, not a claim that every individual dialogue choice is independently decisive.
